Today is the anniversary commemorating the ending of World War I in 11 November 1918. It is also one of most important holidays for Polish people - National Independence Day, Poland finally became independent after 123 years of annexation.

Following our development update from last year we are eager to show more assets of faction, which hopefully You will be able to play in less time than it took us to prepare content for this highlight update. Every weapon and every vehicle for Polish faction is currently in game. By the end of month completly new "kitgeometry" for each class will join the party, today we are showing small cut of it. Everything You see below is still work in progress.

Honker 2000
Light transport jeep which can hold up to 8 soldiers and ammo crate. This newer version of the standard Honker 2324 is ideal for fast transport. Construction of this vehicle has been modernized over the years since its production started in 1988. Currently the Polish Army owns nearly 2000 of these vehicles and is searching for a replacement.

Honker Skorpion-3
Light patrol jeep based on Honker 2000, it is slightly more armored and is equipped with heavy machine gun. Used by both Polish Army in country and by the Polish Contingent during the war in Iraq. Both models for Honker jeeps have been made by [R-CON]PaulPL1 and [R-DEV]ddeo, texturing has been so far done by maurib. [R-DEV]Hauteclocque exported the vehicles into the game, while [R-CON]Arab did the coding work.

BWP-1 Infantry Fighting Vehicle
BWP-1 is the polish designation for the famous BMP-1. With around 1000 of these vehicles still in stock it is worth mentioning that the BWP-1 is the only tracked infantry fighting vehicle in use by Poland. Re-textured by Grober it is one of vehicles in the Polish faction which uses the new vehicle camouflage.

PT-91 "Twardy" Main Battle Tank
A modernized T-72, equipped with Israeli thermals, ERAWA-1 and ERAWA-2 Explosive Reactive Armour. Twardy main weapon is Slovak made 125mm 2A46M smoothbore tank gun and 7.62x54mm coaxial PKT. All the texturing done by Grober, new turret model finished by Brother, [R-DEV]ddeo and exported by [R-DEV]Amok@ndy. Recently coded by [R-DEV]Mats391.

Star 944 Transport Truck
Successor to Star 744. Designed in early 2000's, it's based on MAN components. This 4 wheeled transport truck has tilt, which is unique compared to other PR transport trucks, although it is possible to shoot through the fabric.

Star 1466 Logistics Truck
Star 1466 is used as logistics truck and as a base for the KD-10 Command Post. There are only minor visual differences between both vehicles, Star 1466 has longer cabin and it is 6 wheeled compared to 4 wheeled 944. Models and textures of trucks have been created by Veti. [R-DEV]ddeo did final modelling tweaks while [R-DEV]Amok@ndy exported the vehicles. Coded by [R-CON]Arab.

ZSU-23-4
Rabbit re-texture of MEC's ZSU-23-4. Polish Army modernizes these vehicles to ZSU-23-4MP Biała standard.

BRDM-2M97 "Żbik"
A modernization of Soviet BRDM-2, it entered service in the late 90's. Żbik uses a new turret equipped with NSV HMG, thermals and smoke launchers. It also has more space inside, so all of the passengers are inside vehicle compared to PR's BRDM-2. Polish faction will also use standard BRDM-2 and 9P148 Konkurs (Spandrel) vehicles. Żbik turret model made by [R-DEV]ddeo, exported by [R-DEV]Amok@ndy. Texturing by [R-DEV]ddeo, [R-DEV]Insanitypays and Rabbit.

KTO Rosomak
KTO Rosomak is an amphibious armoured personnel carrier based on the Finnish Patria AMV. Its turret is Polish version of Italian Hitfist-30, equipped with ATK 44 30mm autocannon, 7.62mm UKM-2000C and six smoke-launchers. As a typical APC, it carries 2 crewman and 6 soldiers. Modelling and texturing done by Kane, MaxPL, Kruk_PL, Grober, Antol and [R-DEV]ddeo. Vehicle exported and coded by [R-DEV]Mineral.

AMZ Dzik
AMZ Dzik is an armored vehicle equipped with 7.62mm PKM and four smoke-launchers. It can also carry 6-8 soldiers. Model and textures created by Flamaster, [R-CON]PaulPL1. Exported by clivew, [R-DEV]Mineral and coded by [R-CON]Arab.

W-3 Sokol
Multipurpose helicopter developed from the Mil/PZL Mi-2. PR will feature 2 versions of Sokol, first of which concentrates on transporting troops, but also includes ammo crate and GSz-23Ł 23mm. The second CAS variant will have 4 pylons of S-5 rockets, GSz-23Ł 23mm but less space for passengers. Main model made by PoE2 team, re-textured by [R-DEV]Insanitypays. New interior prepared by [R-DEV]ddeo and Grober, exported by [R-DEV]Amok@ndy. Coding by [R-DEV]Mats391

Spike-MR/LR
World class missiles used by over a dozen of armies. PR will feature both handheld and static variants of these. Models have been prepared by [R-DEV]ddeo and textured by [R-CON]MasterX. Handheld version exported into game by [R-CON]PaulPL1. New animations by Develop013.

PPZR GROM
As a post-communist state, Poland also developed their own MANPAD. Based on SA-18 Grouse, PPZR GROM has new sights, a longer range and a better computer compared to previously used SA-7 Grail or SA-16 Gimlet/SA-18 Grouse. Model created by MTO and [R-DEV]ddeo, painted by [R-DEV]Insanitypays and export done by [R-CON]PaulPL1.

We would like to thank everyone who contributed into development of Polish faction. More than 8 years have passed since its annoucement, we must thank to people who still haven't lost faith in us, without this great community we wouldn't have a reason to continue the production. Although it might look like faction is almost ready, having all assets in game brings more problems, especially for testers. Without some boilerplate talk, we have still lots to do so... see You in next couple of years!

What % complete does this put the faction at? 90%?

We have no idea. Development might look slow because we are right now in queue, there is more to come for PR between present day and Polish faction release.

assetruler69: I've seen things you smurfs wouldn't believe. Apaches on the Kashan. I watched burned down tank hulls after the launch of the single TOW. All those moments will be lost in time, like tears in rain.

Guys... I am so proud of you :)

STAR trucks looks so fine it was a good decision to cancel STAR 266 from the design plan ;) Can't wait to see more of your progress! :D

Very interesting equipment to Poland!It is between the west and east threshold forming a mixture!
I was watching that pt-91 coated with ERA tablets, maybe I should imagine, has something else to tell us devs? :razz:

Be aware, super-BRDM is here. By the way, will Germany get Spike instead of Milan? I mean, like Spike is newer than Milan and stuff.

Looks good. On what maps will they be on? Pls pit them against a conventional force such as Germany, USA or Russia (unt not against an insurgent faction). :P
