custom level not showing up in list of game level in Create Local

Post by Enlil »

following this link FH2 mapping tutorials - Battlefield 2 Modding Tutorial 2 - Creating a Basic Level: at the end it says save all and that i should be able to play the map i just made but I don't see my map in the list.

Should it be that easy.,. just save and find in the list? even with the pr_edit dir that tutorial said to create so we don't screw up our pr dir.. im guessing we have to copy the level from pr_edit to pr dir... but its not a zip archive like the existing levels there.

Well, if you have it in pr_edit, then the pr game obviously won't recognize it ;) . Either launch the pr_edit using the bf2.exe with mod param, or copy&paste it to the pr folder as you did.

The game doesn't care if you have the files extracted or zipped. They are only zipped to reduce file size (and number of loose files). The game can read both of them just fine.

In general it is not advised to change things in the mods/pr folder, as depending on what you do, it can mess up your game and disable your ability to play online or even start the game.

heh yeah somehow my one zip archive in pr got changed and then saw how It wouldn't let me play.. but I luckily have copies.

I'm pretty sure I tried starting BF2 from within the pr_edit dir.. but then again I didn't check the target parameters. Ill give that a look next time. thanks!
