consecutive bomb drops
I would like to raise an issue about bombing. IRL a jet is able to drop multiple bombs on the same target. While you copilot a jet, there's a delay between dropping of consecutive bombs on TV guided or laser guided say like 3-4 seconds. So i was wondering if the consecutive bomb drops with very little delay could be done or not?
And i would like to encourage fellow players to state their stand on this issue.
Thank you.

Re: consecutive bomb drops
It would be pointless anyways, bombs are already very powerful.

ATM you guide and fire with the same button, this is why.anantdeathhawk wrote:I would like to raise an issue about bombing. IRL a jet is able to drop multiple bombs on the same target. You can only drop a new bomb once the first one has blown up.

Re: consecutive bomb drops
I don't gun jets so I have to ask, but is it possible to drop a bomb, switch to a different mode(e.g. laser missile), switch back and bomb again, similar to how we used to spam hellfires?
If it's not currently possible, I'm not sure about making it so. Only having one shot per run makes it more important to place precisely, rather than just dumping them in the general area.
But some opinions from people who actually do gun them would be good.

Re: consecutive bomb drops
That is possible. Rate of fire of the bomb weapon is 200 RPM, so you can throw two bombs with 1/3sec between them. Obviously they would both be guided into same target.[R-CON]LiamBai wrote:I don't gun jets so I have to ask, but is it possible to drop a bomb, switch to a different mode(e.g. laser missile), switch back and bomb again, similar to how we used to spam hellfires?

Re: consecutive bomb drops
It's possible yes Liam, but quite useless as the bombs go to the same target.

Re: consecutive bomb drops
What if there's an armored column with fair separation.
Rapid bombing could take out a few while crippling others or could be used as an effective area suppressant.
I agree with viirusiiseli on using multiple bombs on the same target would be a waste, but same thing with TV guided could be deadly and disorienting.
I suggest, if devs may, they could limit single bombing with laser guided like right now and could remove restriction on TV guided where you could unload your whole payload at once, but since they would TV guided there precision would be quite less.

Re: consecutive bomb drops
If we were to do that, you would drop a new bomb every time you redirect the one already in air. Also as already mentioned above, all dropped bombs would hit the same spot as they follow the same target.anantdeathhawk wrote:I suggest, if devs may, they could limit single bombing with laser guided like right now and could remove restriction on TV guided where you could unload your whole payload at once, but since they would TV guided there precision would be quite less.

TV Guided: One bomb at a time unless you bug it and fire several. If firing several, they all hit the same spot. (useless)
Laser Targeted: Can drop as many as you want without any bug, there is no restriction. Still all the bombs hit the same place: the laser.
Just to clear it up.
Pretty sure there isn't gonna be a way to allow multiple bombs on TV guided to be guided into several targets at once.

Re: consecutive bomb drops
Only way possible in BF2:
1. Have multiple laser targets provided by spotters that and drop one on each. Still can result in all falling on the same target thanks to BF2 lock mechanics
2. Drop one bomb on provided laser and use TV guided for other target
These are the only ways you will be able to spread your guided bombs. You can however use laser guided bombs w/o laser to dumb bomb an area.

Re: consecutive bomb drops
Okay, i understand those restrictions are due to mechanisms of the game.

This video is of original BF2 in which the single piloted jets just like in PR drop unguided bombs using HUD.
same HUD kind of thingy might enable co-pilot of 2 men jet to drop bombs in "unguided mode", a third mode ,other than TV or laser guided.
so this way the bomb falls and hits at different locations and those locations depend on the jet's angle of attack, speed and normal bomb physics.
What i meant was we may release one bomb per press on the hotkey.
so like i have like 5 bombs and i see a target within proper range maybe i press 3 times with my reaction time but within the bomb release limit per second as [R-dev] Mats-391 mentioned. since the bombs are on "unguided mode" they follow this.
