Are those hacks?

Post by _MB_ »

Hello,

I just came across this video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3uzzsUkoinc and the guy there has some red and blue rectangles on his screen. My first guess is that those show friendlies and enemies, but I might be wrong. He might even not be playing PR, eventhough he claims so in the title of the video. Can someone explain?

Thanks,

MB

Yes those are indeed hacks, he got busted a while back.

Good Evening,

This one video makes me suspicious of any high scorer on a regular basis. If there is smoke there is fire. Punkbuster can only catch so many and admins, being the ragtag volunteer group they are, usually miss these as well.

You can easily get around those without changing any part of the hardware + is that not how people are banned from servers currently? PRLauncher makes a hash of your uuid and servers ban by the hash?

Last I checked PR doesn't use punkbuster even though you can still install it in the installer. BF2 isn't listed on punkbuster's website anymore.

I'm never suspicious of anyone in this game of hacking. Anytime I check battle recorder and look at high scorers, it is because they have the right cover, placement, and opportunity to kill someone. There are hackers but compared to any other FPS game they are so rare.
