Please help with BF2142 night map lighting
Hey guys!
I made a map for 2142 with night setting.
THe problem is that ingame there is street lamps. but i can't make them to create lighting for terrain.
for example if you remember Liberation of leipzig map the lamps in that map were creating lighting of terrain. But i cant make them to do so.
I tried generating lightmaps but it didnt do anything.
I know that to make proper lighting of objects i need lightmap samples or to create lightmaps in 3dxMax. But what about terrain? how can i make lamps to create lighting of terrain like it was in Leipzig or Yellow Knife maps?

And yeah i forgot to ask one more thing)
When i try to compile lightmaps, some parts of map is getting lightmapped other parts are not. =(
how can i fix it guys? what am i doing wrong? (

You don't need samples for terrain.
'\objects\common\glow\glowshit' casts point light on terrain and objects, don't know about other glow objects, some made my editor crash when I tried them.
Rhino's 3ds Max lightmapping tut explains point lights in Max lightmapping but pics are gone.

But now i have another problem appeared here..
after compiling lightmaps i have weird borders in textures.

Wish there was a PR mod for BF2142.
There is footage on youtube showing fully stabalized turrets in BF2142 which is not possible in PR.
Is there no way to port the maps and assets over from PR?

any ideas about my texture border problem (as in pictures i posted)? it happens all the time after lightmapping =(

Did you lightmap the entire map or just a section? Did you lightmap on final res or lower?

Yeah i tried all of those options: Only Nearest, Primary, Secondary.
tried these all together and seperately and few hours ago also tried Primary + Secondary. same result...
took me a week to do that.
and also tried on both Low, Medium and Final.
tried also choose max resolution, and lowest ones. didn't helped. =/

alright, so far so good, i think i fixed that problem.
But guys what about shadows of vehicles?
I am having this shit:

any ideas how to fix this?
what should i change in lighting settings?
what is responsible for gameplay objects and vehicles shadows?

change sun position and parameters a little bit (0.3 for Git and 0.7 for sun is a good start point) save and close, delete all content in lightmap folder, open the editor and try lightmaps>terrain?Primary/Final
