Is it just me or is the Type 56 insanely accurate?

Haven't played PR in a while and I pop back in for a quick game of insurgency. My squad mate tells me to try the type 56 because it's super accurate and what do ya know, he's right. I was popping brits on basrah using Iron sights really well, then I pick up an AKM and I'm having trouble hitting targets past 100m or so. Map change to nam and I scumbag switch to NVA. As spotter, I'm getting more kills than the sniper who I'm spotting for at the same ranges. I tried the other new AK and it doesn't feel right at all. Is it just me?

I'm sure anyone who knows how to check the weapon values can tell us if it really is more precise. But I doubt it. Never noticed such a thing.

Yeah I don't know what it is about that weapon but I stack up the killz (!!) with it. Very powerful and accurate and also not too bad at short range. Please don't change it! Haha.

It is same as AK47 or AKM accuracy and damage wise. Only difference is model and selection icon.

It's the Sights. The hooded front sight and thin post, draw your eye to the center of your screen and better contrast with ingame surroundings. I've also noticed the same effect with the L85 and M16A4 iron sights.

^^^^ 100% Agree with this guy. The AKM irons require your eyes to do a bit more work of keeping it in the middle and on target but the Type 56 irons are very calming for your eyes. Even though the Type 56 irons are good tho, I'd rather have an AKM cause the recoil on that thing is huge. It's basically a reskinned AK47, and the AKM has less recoil than the AK47.
