Types of PR players [2016 // semi-serious thread]
Ok, guys, I think it's about time we make a new thread about the subject and tell others our thoughts about the types of people playing PR.
Let me start. The idea was born in another topic (PRTA feedback thread) where I was writing about the fact that I really loved the "silver age" of PR (when TG and PRTA enforced mumble 0.5 to be used mandatory and filtered/kicked out the weak minded), but now TG is dead and PRTA is led by people that can't seem to find common language with the old playerbase of PRTA so basically the server found new people and old ones moved to BASED and other servers; I was LOA for quite a while and when I came back to PR, this metamorphosis had already taken it's place).
Anyway, back to the subject.
IMHO, there are many types of players as there are many types of people, but let's stereotype a bit in order to come up with different, real types of PR players.
My list:
1. Ancient pro's. Players who have played this game since start of the time - they know every nook and tranny in most maps, know the system, the engine, know every tunnel system, geology/geography of terrain and so on. Oh, and give them AR, and they'll mow down fields of enemies. Not to mention those trolls in Jets and their 100:0 KDR's (though it's mostly against poor opposition)
2. Old timers/ veterans. Players who have played this game for a long time (like me). Long time is such a relative term (to state the obvious, lel) that I'd say it's mosly not about the time, but the dedication and the intellect of the player. I know some guys who have started SL'ing after first few months of playing, and they were doing it better then I'm doing it after all these years. Both first type and this type usually can do anything that is necessary (using area attack, using all assets and so on).
3. Golden child. The player who has started to play recently, but seems to be a demigod or something like that (or a cheater) as he's better then some of the Ancient ones. Though sometimes he forgets to throw a patch down before reviving (fuck you people who say the long "field dressing" and don't understand what's a patch).
4. The normie. He's a bit like the next category - the grey, but
5. The Grey. This player is one who is mostly around you most of the time, but you never notice him and won't remember him at all (after that awkward "hi! remember that we played together there and there? - words coming out of his mouth). His K/D is usually 0/0 (not that he didn't die-die, but in the end he has like 10-10) or 0/1 (10-11).
6. The know it all clown. This was me in 2010. I was playing in UKWF for a long time (felt there as in home), and I was so sure of myself and my capabilties that sometimes when I made my INF squad late, I spammed the chat with a following message: "If you want to play this game properly/the way it's intended, join my squad." Why was I a clown? Because I was just learning the game. I mean, I was a decent SL - I did the basics just fine (keeping my SQ together, talking to those who are falling behind, kicking micless guys or getting sure everyone talks, learning how to talk, etc.). But I had bad map knowledge, bad sense of the flow of the game, etc. Those things you (mostly) get with time and grind (playing one map over and over through years).
***
OK, The topic has gotten too big already. So I will stop here and let you guys contribute. As this thread is semi-serious, you can joke about player types (as there are some funny types, as always).

and i rarely SL, i like playing as medic and some LAT/HAT (prefer unguided so i could look like a god and cool when i blow shit up lol) the most but i dont mind any kit. except in op barracuda i MUST have AA kit
i alone can make a buffer zone
just few days ago i shot an helo landed on top of airfield.

The Enthusiast(a nice way to say try hard):
He/She means well, and can play their role with perfection. But never fail to add a little bit of stress upon the squad, and blame/annoy other roles without patience of their own. They preform well, but if stress gets to them, you can without a doubt know that stress will get to you.
Overall I usually like them in my squad, they will rip the enemy apart. They'll also rip your patience apart.
He also will smack talk the **** out of the enemy in allchat.
I still hear the echos.... 'PADO... PADO..... PADO..' that poor corpsman..

8. Asset whores: They are the only ones to create a squad at the first possible moment during briefing time, leading to half of the team complain about there not being an an infantry squad for half a minute until - finally! - someone steps up and creates one. Which then fills up in 0.01 seconds leading to some more complaining that one inf squad isn't enough.
9. Recon players: Just a weird bunch of people in general. xDDDDDDDDDD
10. Teachers: People who create "noob squads" occasionally in order to help others get better at the game. They possess a near infinite amount of patience and cannot ever be mad at anyone.
11. Weekend PR players: As per AlonTavor not even human beings. Big shoutout to them for making sure that we have a couple of servers to choose from every Friday-Sunday.

VTRaptor: but i only stopped for less than 10 secs and that fucking awesome dude put 2 of them
]CIA[ SwampFox: well my definition of glitching is using an enemy kit to kill the enemy
Just_Dave: i have a list about PR players, and they r categorized by their skill
Para: You sir are an arse and not what the game or our community needs.
AlonTavor: Is that a German trying to make me concentrate?
Heavy Death: join PRTA instead - Teamwork is a must there.

12. Tribe elder : This might just be an NA/OCE thing. But theres always that much older bloke who it just kinda makes you shitty as a player to let down. People like WhatTheHell(doc), Koolio, Tim2chins, and Core Savage. These guys have been playing PR for longer then most, and now just sit back and get others to fuck shit up for them. These types of community members are the ones who ya try not to let down, kinda like the dads or tribe elders of PR.

13. CAS Whore. Source of drama. And also magnet of drama by getting needlessly blamed for soloing a panther or an aav. They also tend to rush vn3/brdm/shturm at the start.

Re: Types of PR players [2016 // semi-serious thread]
14. the milsim guy
sub-type A) the superiority complex SL
Most of the times a bad player who thinks he knows everything. likes to start yelling if people dont do as he says. he doesnt care about why people cant follow his order quickly he just gets angry about it anyway.
for him the chain of command is absolute. therefore no arguing is allowed nor any kind of constructive criticism about his decisions.
the decisions are often times flawed by the fact that the guy forgets that this is an unrealistic game and therefore you have to play accordingly to be effective.
most of the times you get the feeling they like to act the big boss because in real life they are probably some pathetic wimps
Sub-type B) The sandbox SL
This is a guy you will mostly find on NA servers.
Its a guy who uses PR as a platform to fulfill his childhood dreams about the military. Those are the guys missing half the map since they take 30 min to build their super fobs. fobs which then become either useless and unmanned or become destroyed since every guy there is still busy shoveling countless barbed wires and foxholes while the enemy approaches.
If you are an insurgent on Karbala and enter the mosque compound on the east side and have suddenly barbed wires,2 HMGs and a TOW staring at you, you know its one of those guys
Those guys make sure that you have at least 1 useless squad in your team expect when they are defending a flag. which leads often times to them taking ages to move to the next objective when their defending flag gets uncapable for the enemy. gathering that squad and making a decision what to do next obviously takes 10 minutes.
Sub-type C) The normal role player
We all know em. Ex-military guys or people who wanted to but didnt make it into the army.
Starting every response with "copy" or ending every question with "do you copy". and they sound in general like you are talking to a military radio. they never doubt any order and follow you blindly into death. Most of the times bad players, but when you have to defend a flag, those guys are perfect since sitting 30 mins on the same spot is fun for them and very immersive.
Here are btw some hardcore milsim players you need to be aware of. if you are in a squad with these guys you are in for a hell of a milsim ride

So much salt, but a good chunk of truth in there, especially subtype A.gwa1hir wrote: -snip-
But it's a bit unnessecary to shit all over the other subtypes, they are generally pretty nice players and fun to play with, what is wrong with a little bit of immersion?

I don't see anything wrong with immersing yourself in the game
Sometimes I just like to fuck around and play solo but most of the time I do enjoy playing with someone that has some military experience and uses it to immerse the entire squad.

15.
The best pilot in the game. There's only one of this guy, and all know his name and shake in their boots when he is on the enemy team. Europeans try to talk **** because they don't know him, but American players don't dare question his skill. Updates come and go, but he remains top dog.

The guys which are addicted to PR.
- They take PR as serious Business, know all Maps and Spots. Dont have to be the Best Players but its fun playing with them. They can pretty much tell you where the enemys will attack next. Where nmys fobs are and stuff.
- Its like, they know a lot of guys ingame, because they are online 30+ hours a week. They have a Favorite Server which they will Seed even while sitting at work or at the university. If they are Not playing they are on the Forums, reddit or any Website which is about PR.
Sometimes they wish they were unemployed so they could play 24/7.
They can get pretty crazy when it comes to playing the game. Yelling in the middle of the night so their neighbours will knock on the door / girlfriend wants to Hit them - These things are pretty common.

I remember many years ago Moulin's neighbors called the cops on him cause he was repeatedly screaming Allah Akbar during an intense Insurgency round in the middle of the night with opened windows.Tackleberry86 wrote: They can get pretty crazy when it comes to playing the game.
