Refractor engine being reverse engineered

Hello, recently I stumbled into this:

That is not a reverse engineering, tho. They want to publish the source of refractor so that all these revive projects and mods that have survived can further improve and fix necessary exploits.

it is reverse engineering. how do you think they get to that source of the engine ^^
they reverse engineer it and then take the result and recreate a modernized version.
this would be ridiculously awesome if they manage to do so and if it works then with the pr data without issues

Some people are going to be overjoyed that fastropes might be a possibility somewhere in the distant future, but I personally am much more interesting in seeing other things to come to fruition such as a better loadout system, and being able to see all of the names of your teammates again to make interacting with them easier(and to reduce tks lol) instead of roughly 60%.

That 64ID fix would be so nice. My favourite: Imagine fitting your whole squad into 1 chopper instead of missing one out

Blender Plugin (read/write) for all mesh and Animation Formats
Lets see if it can go anywhere(perhaps i should contribute).

They would if you could just copy paste everything, problem is you can't. The work necessary to port everything to another engine is tremendous, we're probably talking years. Plus, who is going to do it?

I saw a video where a guy made a working firing computer/fire-control system for APC's/tank's with the 2142 engine. You had to measure your targets distance with laser rangefinder, than the firing computer calculated the drop for the projectile and raised the barrel elevation. Than your crosshair was set for that distance. I can't find that video tho.

Pretty sure that was CAS(plus some numbers) a former dev, and other dormer devs and community members that made the combined arms minimod.

Yeah IIRC there was also automatic tracking system for armored vehicles in the Combined Arms minimod. And also thermals way before they were put into PR. It would be interesting to see what can be done with this project.

It was not actually automatic tracking per se. All vehicles had lazes attached to them and the tank rounds were just set up to track these like any AGM.
