Is there a way to lower the damage rate on the pkm in one round on ia drang I recall a nva pkm soldier putting hueys on fire with one clip when its near them

unfortunatly, the vietnam huey's are not very well armored, and ~70+ rounds(usually less) will do that to any helicopter.

infact, one round of the nva pkm can neutralize the huey by taking out the pilot.(but usually like 5-10 from a head-on angle)
