Thoughts on having all-chat local?(on seperate channel)

Post by QuickLoad »

What are your thoughts on having local avaliable to all-chat?

Most likely on an entirely seperate channel, since local has quite the distance and everyone speaks the same language.

I came across some PR Hacks and noticed that hte person had local enabled on all teams, meaning he could hear the US team when playing as NVA.

There actually is most likely NO REASON FOR THIS TO BE IMPLEMENTED at all, but I thought the discussion and concept of it was kinda neat.

edit: my personal experiences with it could be somtehing of:
capturing an enemy pilot
or this one time that I killed an enemy and he got swapped upon death enabling us to speak to him after he died.(closest thing to the chance of having actual all-local)

That kind of hack should not be possible. different rooms on mumble, they are not linked.

And no.

Back to (brief) period where we had one channel mumble? No thanks.

You either had people screaming inanely to annoy the opposition or no one talking at all and using VOIP to communicate. I guess since we don't have VOIP anyone it would force people into using mumble regardless, which just leaves us with all the screaming.

I miss the days when I could hop on enemy mumble channels pickup their kits and infiltrate behind enemy lines; through some social engineering and blow their shit up.

Ahh memories.
If you want Spawnable RPGs and SVDs for Insurgent team

I recently picked up Day of Infamy to satisfy my ww2 needs and it's got all-local chatter.
It also has RTOs, funny because sometime ago I brought up both of these for use in PR, still it(all local) won't be good for PR's gameplay(except for RTOs... please add it to ww2 sometime)

anyways, it's pretty funny sneaking behind enemy lines, hearing them communicate or...
trash talking the enemy team and "hey krauts i've got a present for you" before lobbing a pineapple into their window.
