Hover help?!

Hover help?!
I noticed when I hover or when I'm landed that a hexagon appears on my HUD. It slowly drifts when I'm unable to hold the helicopter on a perfect hover. Does anybody know what it is or what it's for?

I have been asking myself that question since 2005. I think it was supposed to help you land or something but it seems broken.

It shows acceleration indicator\energy cue.
assetruler69: I've seen things you smurfs wouldn't believe. Apaches on the Kashan. I watched burned down tank hulls after the launch of the single TOW. All those moments will be lost in time, like tears in rain.
Time to give up and respawn.
