Modding troubles.

Yeah, I have a little problemo. I'm running a windows 7 home premium, 8 GB 64 bit. I downloaded the BF2 editor, so I can start modding. when I open it up, it starts normal, but when I choose a mod to work on (or start a new one) it loads, then gives me an error message. "DirectX version 9.0c or higher is required to run BF2. please install DX9c and try again." i know I have the right dx, because the vanilla battlefield works, and I checked. (Windows 7 comes with dx 11). i even changed the properties of the application to run in "compatibility mode windows 7". is this even the right place to post this? CAN ANYONE HELP?

You have to run bf2editor.exe in Win XP compatibility.
