Hey guys, I am interesred in launching my own PR server, I know about the license that's not a problem for me. My Idea is to launch a Vehicle Warfare 24/7 server which imo no one yet did (did not see any) . I am interested if I can launch a server using a server host company here in the EU, and how much if any one knows would cost me holding the server a month. It's just an idea for now so I would be glad to get some info from expreienced guys or ex/realtime admins/owners how it would be like to own a server.
Thanks in advance!

Re: Launching a Server
if you dont have minimum 10 friends who start seeding in the morning + 20 admins its not even worth trying it.
You will only waste money and time

Well, I don't know, it will be a one of a kind server. I think at least 15% of PR players would be glad to see an all-time VW server, I guess they will join it by themselves.transpilot123 wrote:if you dont have minimum 10 friends who start seeding in the morning + 20 admins its not even worth trying it.

Not really great idea. It would be better to make just standard server. Also, it would be nice to get some experience people to be admins and make server rules.

l mean if you wanna do it go ahead, but in the PR comunity people usually will join if there are people or a considerate number of people.
You are also to new unless its a new acount but people that want to ruin Vehicle Warfare with TK completly screw it up to a point where it becomes unplayable - you better have constantly an admin on your server

Should be able to get a server in the EU for less than 60 Euros per month, linux is cheaper than windows, and you need the skills to actually operate it (and a PR VW configuration). It adds up as time flies, and servers grow slowly unless you have a bunch of friends already to get it going.KLAS wrote:Hey guys, I am interesred in launching my own PR server, I know about the license that's not a problem for me. Like the others said, servers need admins or they will not become a place people enjoy playing and seeding on - and you can't make everyone who asks into an admin, you have to get to know people or they could be as bad as the trolls.
After all that, you might need a website to identify your group, and a forum, but it's not necessary - same with TS3 to communicate out of the game, or a web panel to give others access to your PR server controls (start/restart/unban/etc), but again, that's not necessary and there are free ways to do many things if you're savvy. But costs do add up, and you can't always expect others to help when you're just starting out, or even later.
If it's something you really want to do, best of luck to you! Stick with it, and don't give up on your goals! It's not a matter of "if you build it, they will come" - lol - you gotta stick with your baby until it grows up, months, years, etc... Cheers!
