Faction Change in init

Post by nathan.moore7 »

So I wanted to change the factions of some of the maps, so I changed them on one map just to test it out. I changed the init.con file under \Project Reality\mods\pr\levels\gaza_2\server. Now when I try to load PR I get a CTD. When I tried to load with an online profile, it tells me that I have made changes that are not allowed and that it will not load. But if I load with an offline profile I just get the CTD. Anyone know how to fix this, or if there is a better way to change factions on maps?

Obviously you cant join Online Servers with modified game files , but you might wanna make a mods folder named pr_edit to freely edit anything without ruining the core pr mod files

Thats a good idea. If I make a new mod folder then how do I play it? Is there a way to select it in the PR Launcher?

the PRLauncher is still the same with the old BF2 shortcut , you can edit the mod path at the shortcut properties

Not really, because your pr_edit is going to have it's own laucher located in
Project Reality BF2/mods/pr_edit/bin ---> prlauncher.exe
And that's how you run it in the fastest way.

You don't have to copy the launcher, you can simply use PR's launcher and point to pr_edit instead. Your shortcut would look like this:

Target:
"C:\Path\To\Project Reality\mods\pr\bin\PRLauncher.exe" +modPath mods/pr_edit

Start in:
"C:\Path\To\Project Reality\mods\pr\bin"
