Moving Up/Holding Position As A Squad

Post by [SFOD-D]Sandman »

Guys, when moving up or holding position at an objective as a squad, there is a few things you should keep in mind:

- Do not crowd together. Crowding together makes you a valuable target. It will just take a single mortar round or a grenade to wipe the whole squad out.

- Scan different sections. Watch different compass directions. By doing this you will have set a strong perimeter and be ready for anything.

- Communicate with each other. Give heads up to the squad leader and the other squad members about what you are encountering.

These are some key points about moving up/holding position as a squad. Hope it will be useful.

To simplify this.. Teamwork should be between squads, not one squad attacking at a time. Better yet, lets learn to maximize defensive firepower, whole team and assets defend with maximum emplacements and FOB spawns to never lose a flag.

Instead of leaving flags un-defended, lets leave enemy flags un-attacked.

One squad per super FOB 3 TOW + 3 AA + 6 HMG + 2 mortars + all tanks + all APCs + jeeps + logistics repair stations + UAV, a lot of thermals and ears listening.

NO MATTER THE SITUATION

-1 man per piece of cover, move cover to cover, in view of each other to save each other, 1 man hit per RPG (or mortar/tank shell/TOW missile) spread formation.

-Scan aggressively for anything suspect peeking, snap suppression towards enemy tracers or gunshot noises whether you see them or not. Point it out, call it out. Camouflage up, peek through leaf.

For holding ground.. Simple easy teamwork strategy.

. Your best bet is ALWAYs your LAST FLAG from the start of the round with your whole team, preparing maximum FOB emplacements allowed by the game.

From the start of the round you have time, up to 10 minutes by the rules to have your whole team prepare 3 super FOBs using everything plus a mortar FOB, 1 man digging each asset, 1 squad building each super FOB, gets 3 or more super FOBs done at the same time.

3 TOW + 3 AA + 6 HMG + 2 mortars + all tanks + all APCs + jeeps + logistics repair stations + UAV, a lot of thermals and ears listening.

Enemy thinks they have the upper hand but really your team prepared and they run into every available asset pulling security for each other at your last flag.

Can't CAS it because of 3 AA plus 2 AA kits and AA vehicles, artillery area attack will only damage part of a maximum wide sized super FOB.

All your 3 TOWs + 3 AA + 6 HMG + 2 mortar + APCs + tanks + AA vehicles can listen for enemy armor, know its direction, wait and take it out. TEAMWORK, engines off, camouflage vehicles.

This LAST FLAG STRATEGY allows your team the time for 3 infantry squads to surround your last flag with multiple super FOBs, 1 man digs each emplacement is 4 minutes per super FOB for maximum build perimeter size to spread enemy view and artillery damage choices.

3 TOW + 3 AA + 6 HMG + 2 mortars on 4 FOBs, plus all armor assets mobile assisting, listening for enemy armor to hear them early, with your UAV.

6 FOBs allowed total, plus main base with vehicles as back up spawn on your last flag, unlimited supply and repair very close for your team, but very far for enemy.

Same for UAV, especially on 4x4 KM vs a 2x2 KM map, enemy UAV uses more fuel to look at your last flag.

Short chopper supply runs, short logi runs, every vehicle uses up its ammo to suppress and scan the view distance, short repairs. Many last flag benefits.

Build and wait 10 minutes for enemy to attack, your 1st APCs will have 3 TOWs supporting plus logistics repair vehicles and AA can rocket assist/decoy/distract/artillery rocket against enemy armor before CAS is up.

This will teach and increase cohesion, firepower demonstration for both sides, makes great trailer content, epic YouTube footage. Trolls the enemy by making them think they have the upper hand by last flag bleed color attack symbol on the map, then they run into every available asset pulling security for each other.
1 Man per piece of cover, Move cover to cover. In view of each other to save each other by shooting, distraction, division of enemy attention and ammo. 1 man hit per RPG/tank shell/mortar spread formation full time. Edge of cap zone. Use camouflage, police up each others exposure, no man seen sticking out. Scan aggressively with eyes and ears for anything suspect, even for birds disturbed to fly out of trees
