Many map markers disappear after a certain amount of time.

I'm aware but it really bugs me! Squad leaders and commanders should not have to replace map markers they placed 5 minutes prior.

I think map markers should not automatically disappear because of time decay or marker limit. I think squad leaders should be allowed to place more than 3 markers and given an eraser like commanders if possible.
