Process of modelling and team gathering

Post by Doqquz »

Hello everyone,

i want to know what are the steps in the gathering a team and starting from scratch. I have read in some forums that one needs to have a team to add "things" to game, but noone explains what to do next.

Thanks in advance

note: new to this forum community, not sure if this fits the Discussion or Modelling.

What do you mean? Like gathering a modding team? well you need to find anyone that has the same interest as you

I'm assuming you mean adding a faction into the game? I think they say you need a team because the amount of work that needs to go into adding a faction in the game and have it up to PR standards would be a lot of work for a single person.

The issue is that people always have ideas but cannot follow through. Being able to prove you can complete any model for PR is an important first step. Just being able to get your model into the game takes a lot of effort and you will likely have to find someone who has done it to guide you through the process. After that you still need to meet the standards set forth by the dev team, which will require going back and fixing issues.

After all of this you have finally put your first asset into the game, but that it just one asset of a large list needed to complete a faction to a playable level. The undertaking is a lot for any one person to handle and would still take months for even the most skilled modellers (not taking into account most 3d artists stick to one discipline like weapons, vehicles, architecture, soldiers, etc..). Getting a team together is also one of the largest hurdles to overcome. I really wish making a faction was an easy task but we have seen projects go under after a lot of work was completed.
