Mumble cannot detect keyboard (?)

Post by _MB_ »

Hello, I understand this might be too convoluted to solve, but bare with me.

I try to run PR via wine and currently my only problem seems to be Mumble. I open the launcher, click the Options button in the main menu and go to PR Mumble tab. When I click launch I get an error

"GlobalShortcutWin: SetCooperativeLevel: 80070006" with only "OK" button.

I get the same error when I join an online server, too.

When I click ok in the error message, mumble craches. According to this archived post it has something to do with key binds. Indeed when I launch PR mumble from Options I actually cannot bind keys there (I can interact with mumble as usual until I press OK on the error message) and all shortcuts are unbinded.

Do you have any suggestions what to do in order to solve this or at least debug it further?

Arch Linux user here. Hotkeys can be bound via the PR Launcher instead of Mumble. Respective audio icons show up in game and other players hear me fine.

The GlobalShortcutWin error doesn't mean much in practice. From my tests, Project Reality is perfectly playable via Wine, with the occasional crash when joining a server. :D

Currently using Arch Linux. Instead of using Mumble, you can bind hotkeys using the PR Launcher. The game displays the appropriate audio icons, and my fellow players can clearly hear me.
