Running LOW FPS on DECENT HARDWARE

Post by Fahri »

i5-12450hx
RTX 2050 6GB
24GB of ram, low process in the background

i know PR is based on the old bf2 platform which lead to bad performance and optimization. but i want to know if theres any solution, seeing people play PR smoothly in lower specs kills me.
I have every vcr, and very updated directx

Based on CPU model, your computer seem to be some kind of laptop. With laptops, first things to check are that the charger is always plugged in, and that system properly cooled. Both of which will cause throttling if neglected.

In general, low FPS in PR is almost always result of CPU limitation, but to be sure you need to look the actual numbers. Since you've got a Nvidia GPU, you can use overlay software like MSI Afterburner + RTSS (RivaTuner Statistics Server) to monitor your CPU and GPU loads, and of course temps.

Basic rule of thumb is that if FPS drops when GPU load is at or near 100%, bottleneck is the GPU. Otherwise it's the CPU, regardless what the overall CPU load might look like. Monitoring CPU load on a multi-core processor is tricky because you must monitor each of cores individually, and PR can only use two cores. So your average CPU load over all cores might seem low, but the cores that are actually doing anything are maxed out and limit the FPS.

For settings that you can change to increase FPS, check this post viewtopic.php?t=152439
