Leaning and Bashing.

The major thing i found disapointing about BF2 is the lack of a leaning feauture like in Delta Force or a bashing feature like in Halo. I can live without the bash because with some weapons it wouldn't be realistic but i think Leaning would really give a certain amount of realism to the game. Any plans on including it?

Ime sure he does.
But yea just like SOF/SOF2 could lean around corners etc for a quick peak which also provided the best way to snipe in urban surroundings.

I have no idea if this can be put in but it would definatly be a good thing if it was.

i think thats what your knife is for, most games that dont have the melee attack have a knife, most games that have a knife dont have melee attack. i mean my buttons are clutered enough as it is, personally, i prefer a knife better then a melee attack.

Well when you sprint damn there as fast as a tank, no need to be able to peep your head around a corner

I like the idea of hitting somone with the butt of your rifle or the bottom of your pistol.
It would stun them when you couldent get a knife kill with one hit. then you can shoot or stab them

ya, rifle butt could replace the knife, it think it would make sense. or maybe right click is bayonet, left click is rifle butt? your all purpose melee gun!

There is lots of reasons why peeping around a corner is valuable in battle.
would you walk right around a corner or even crawl around one to see if anyone is looking in your direction?????

I'd love to see both of these put in... coming from Call of Duty: UO it was dissapointing that I couldn't fully utilize cover with leaning.

I'd also like to see sprinting (to an extent) sideways. I hate having to run forward and turn, as opposed to strafe. I'd like to at least see half the sprint speed on a strafe being possible (I know most of us can do that).

i never really noticed it when sprinting. but you cant swim sideays! wtf??
it seems so stupid that you can only swim in the forward or backward direction.

Yeah it's odd... give it a try. Sprint forward and try to strafe. You can only turn directions, not actually move sideways while sprinting.

Actually, Im pretty sure the BF2 Special Forces Expantion Pack is going to include Leaning, so it's capable, lets see it PR. As for Melee, just pull off your helmet and chuck it at the enemy like in Saving Private Ryan, then whip out your pistol and shoot wildly until you hit him...

The question at this point is: can you mod leaning in?

I don't know how. I cannot think of anyway to somehow bind a key to leaning.

Djuice? Help!

Not sure about leaning, but as I have said before, we do want to diversify hand-to-hand combat beyond just various knives. The bayonet / rifle buttstroke has been considered, as well as the entrenching tool. Soldier of Fortune 2 had a pistol-whip for secondary fire on their handguns, so that might be something to consider, also.

Ya i saw that in the WW2 mod for BFV, but you couldnt use iron sights as it was right click... maybe it could be a weapon fire mode thing

mode 1 = left fire, right aim
mode 2= left fire, right Bash brains out!

I cant see why leaning could not be added in. thinking of another mod called bloodthirst for CSS they have slowmotion gameplay (matrix style) and vamps that can jump 50feet in 1sec and other unique features like jumping off walls etc.

surly leaning is possible.
