Water Damage from Moving Boat
I have had a small issue (not worthy of the suggestion section) when jumping out of a boat into water at low speed and the accumulated damage of the water viciously tearing the flesh from my bones and slamming me like concrete at 10km/h being enough to set me off coughing and dying...

hmm i doubt there is a way to differentiate water vs. concrete, but we will see what we can do. I mean people can get thrown out of a boat going liek 40 mph and it's only going to bruise them.

That doesn't make much sense though. The engine can differentiate the damage from water to concrete when your falling (i.e. you jump from crane on to ground = death, on to water = damage but life) why shouldn't it be able to with the vehicles, or is it all speed based, so its the speed of the vehicle that matters and nothing else?

Okay to turn this thread into something more productive. I think swimming should be re-thought.
There should be NO sprint-swim. There is no FEASIBLE way to do this with a rifle.
Normal swimming speed should also be greatly reduced. Try putting on 50lbs of gear, boots, uniform, AND an assault rifle. Now try swimming. Come back to me and tell me the results
Bottomline is: Swimming in a combat zone is one of the most unplesant things you would ever go through. It should be thought of as a 'last resort' type thing. Right now its more like 'no big thang' to swim a river, when it should be thought of as a more major obstacle.

I completely agree. For example, atm defending bridge/river crossings (on maps that have them) is rendered completely undecisive (which should not be the case in reality) as the enemey always has the quick option of a quick 20-30 second swim across somewhere else to setup a quick flank on defending forces (I admit I am guilty of this). I would not think that to be a very regular manoevre for modern armies to take when they are battling it out for a river crossing? Okay, fully geared up? I hope that in a future release it will be possible that anyone who swims for a longer duration of time (or after x meters) simply gets a longer blur effect and then drowns.

I've been flipped out of inner tubes and slammed into the water when attempting to water ski, and I can say that it hurts, but you wouldn't die. Plus I was just wearing a bathing suit, so bare skin hitting water will always hurt, but if you are wearing clothing, then it lessens the impact. Navy Seals will jump from a moving helicopter into the water, and they don't die. So I don't think you should take much damage, maybe a little bit to simulate the stinging or bruising. Also, if you are going to reduce the swimming ability, then Special Forces class should be able to swim longer, or better, or something like that. After all, they are Special.
