How to make your rank stick with ABR
PR uses it's own rankings, separate from that of vBF2. You'll notice however that every time you play, your rank will reset to a lower rank and you'll quickly re-gain your ranks every time you play.
You aren't *actually* being demoted and then having to earn your points back again. In fact your points always stay, and that's why you'll rank up by doing almost nothing, like shooting 1 guy, or being run over by a truck. What is happening is that PR is catching back up to your real rank.
To stop this from happening, and to make your rank stick, you need to use something called the ABR Client. (ABR stands for Alternative Battlefield Ranking).
It's simple, just download the client here: http://www.battlefieldranking.net/remos ... 1.exe.html
Now install it and run it. It does a bunch of things, like you can use it as a server browser. But don't worry about that, and don't bother with it! Just leave it running, and then go play PR like you normally do.
Now if you go to the BFHQ, you will see your PR rank and info, instead of you vBF2 rank.
Then when you are done playing PR, shut off the ABR client. Your rank will now stick. You don't have to run ABR every time you play, just once a week (or once a month) to get PR to catch up and have your rank stick.

I've never been known for my brevity, so if someone wants to clean this up and post it on the Guide, I think that would be a cool idea.

Yep, very easy to install and use.
I do wish it showed players in the servers though so you could launch from there.
I also wish PR had like a buddy list so you could find your friends like you find your fav. servers.
With this huge influx of new players since .5 hit, it is a lot harder to find squadmates you trust to watch your back.

I had always heard of this but never cared to use it cause I never cared about how many points I got, and I still almost every time end up at the top of the score board. I had no idea this thing would show all PR stats in the BFHQ and not vBf2 mixed in. Thats pretty neat, but like I said, none of you should REALLy care for it that much. once in a while its fun to see where you stand and what you can do point wise but the game is about the immersive factors, not who is at the top of the ranking list in the top 10. If I played every time on servers that had ABR (wich I havnt really since .32) I would most likely be in the top 100.

In retrospect I should never have installed ABR and made my rank stick. I think it would be very incouraging to have the fanfare blow 17 times in a row every time I join a new server. Just the thrill to get get promoted to a new rank for every new point I harvest by your foolish rush to deat...
Never mind.
Joking aside, some have installed ABR Client to make their rank "stick" permanently when they join servers. It can be a little bit annoying to hear the fanfare go off every 5 seconds.
