Before i started BF2 i played a game called Joint Operations and it was amazing, it was JUNGLE WARFARE! it had littlebirds, blackhawks, and Chinocks(however You spell it). but it didnt have great graphics. They had a gun called the M4 which is like the gun you get with MSPF, but you could add a grenade launcher to it. I was wondering if you could maybe add this gun in the next Project Reality.
If you dont know what im talking about lol here are some real life pictures of that same weapon. I know that its not called the M4 in real life because thats the Marksman weapon i believe. Lol im not in the army so i dont know the names of the guns.
as the others said, it´s simply that the dog tags are reserved for the staff only ^^
as far as i know, the devs plan on replacing the m16 with m4s on certain maps (urban maps =m4 open terrain = m16) - and yes, it is called m4 (the marksmanrifle is the m14). i guess when it is introduced it also will get a m203 (that´s the grenade launcher) attachement, but i´m not shure of that
Any thoughts about using the unlocks as alternative guns, like BFV had. Where all the unlocks would be available to everyone, instead of unlocking them.
Well the M4 (3 round burst, no full auto) is the standard issue weapon for the U.S. Army. M16A4 is the standard issue for the USMC. Once US Army appears, presumably we'll have M4 Ironsights, M4 w/ M203, M4 w/ optics, etc.
An admin can remove his sig, since he is apparently oblivious to it.
Back to my unlocks for all / BFV style thingy, you could even do different kit loadouts with the different "unlock". I say unlock, but I don't really mean you have to unlock it, it's just a kit swap like in BFV. How many different ones can you do? Vanilla had 3 different guns per class, so I guess you could do more.
Is that wink directed towards me or someone else? All this crypticness about .6 is confusing me
I'm pretty sure they went to the M4 because soldiers in the field (Mostly Iraq I'm guessing) found themselves in Urban Warfare not so much fighting across fields. Plus the amount of modifications you can employ on the M4 are greater than the M16.
The standard US Army rifle is the M16A2 and M16A4(flat-top upper receiver with a detachable carrying handle). Both are semi or 3 round burst only.
The M4 Carbine is semi or full auto and is frequently issued to soldiers in urban environments. However it has not officially replaced the full length M16.
As far as modifications go the M16A4 and M4 are both virtually identical in capabilities.(the M16A4 actually has more room for attachment points since it has a longer barrel.)
That would be difficult to implement into this mod, a system where you can add attachments like an m203 or an AN/PEQ-2 laser sight to the m4 or m16a4 rail mod.
Madbuster, the US Army has transitioned to M4s. The Standard M4 has 3 Round Burst, Semi, and Safe Modes. This is used by the army. The M4A1 is the "Hollywood" full-auto version used by SF groups
