I was in that match.
Bob.dob and his squad were manning the APCs(well might i add).
Dukemeister was on the opposite team and i was in a cobra(not getting shot by SU) with a french gunner called Kouchne(something similar). Lol at one point i shot Duke down with the Cobra stingers. GG

I think I was in that match on GloryHoundz. I remember that there was a whole armada of apcs and US vehicles coming to shore and it was my squad who took out most of them. We were like "Holy sh*t" at first, but we repelled every single one and our side won on the map. Our Light ATs were on fire that day, and with the help of ALLAH, we repelled the infidels back to their floating carrier.
If you remember, this is why I said that map is still not balanced because they threw all they had at us, we repelled them but got knocked back to our middle to last flags near the end, and we still had a 50-70+ point lead on the US side in the end.

nice video. I have actually never seen the Frogfoot before as I dont play on MEC when on OMAN and I'm never around the airplanes when on the ground.
I was in a squad with Fuzzhead recently and we were USMC and we had a whole Armour squad and had all of the APC's and we used extreme organization and because of us our team got a hold of the entire beach head and from there on they wiped the MEC out. We almost capped there last flag but the round ended before we could. It does still need some balancing, but its not impossible for the USMC unless the team is horrible. Also, remember in real life, War is never a balanced act between the 2 opposing forces. If one side is abviously going to be way overpowering, they keep moving ahead, they dont wait for the opposing side to get more assets or infantry and whatnot.

I have yet to see USMC come even close to winning Gulf of Oman WAC.
It relies on FAR too much teamwork to be expected in the average public server. I consider it a good round for the USMC if they can manage to cap 3/4 of the beach flags. Map really needs to go, or be drastically changed (four beach flags, all relatively close to each other = bad).

Well the last time I played it, it WAS like that (believe it's called "Breakthrough"), on the Gloryhoundz server, and we had the APCs (all six of them) working together in Fuzzhead's squad, and we still got smoked. I just don't like the layout of that map. Too much armor and airpower for a relatively cramped map. I just don't think gameplay changes (at least the ones currently in) make it a PR quality map.
For the USMC, let's say you have 32 people on your team...
Now, take away at least three or four to account for people with pilot kits doing nothing, or AFKs.
So we have 28... now take four more people away, and put them in Cobras. So we have 24. Now take two more people away, and put them in jets. So we have 22. Now take 12 people away and put them in APCs (driver + gunner). We're left with 10 ground pounders left. To take four flags that are all relatively close together.
With AASv2, it doesn't work well. If you could spawn on the beach flags once you captured them, it may be different. But as it stands you're lucky to get some of your APCs to stay alive for enough time to spawn on them. There's very few good places for rally points on Oman for the USMC. River and Rock (I think) Fort are the only ones you can even get a rally point somewhat hidden near.
