About new factions and storyline suggestion.

I have been reading some of the (loads of) suggestions/requests that people are writting here for new factions and a storyline. Before anything, i should say that its very disperse and its quite hard to find all the same-topic-related threads. Imo they all should be condensed in a single thread to make its read easier. Well, back on topic:

The thing is that i wrote a suggestion at Point of Existence Forums about the nations that i thought that should be in their game and i provided that suggestion of a storyline.

They seem to be very busy right now (they are planning to add russians and americans in their next release) and they said they dont really have enough "dev-power" to make it, so while reading your forums i thought maybe it would be useful for you (and for all those fans calling for a storyline)

Please note that my suggestion was made to fit their mod (they only have 2 factions, ukraine and germany, plan to add us and russia and in addition they can use the vanilla bf2+xpansions stuff) so it wont probably fit yours 100% (ie, i did not include the chinese army at all). BUT if u like the point i aimed to reach and u are interested on it (and when i find the time for it :P ) i could write another version for your mod, according to the factions and other stuff u already have on it. (ofc i would like to write it with the help of all forumers, who i wouldneed to share their nowdays worldwide politics and military topics knowledge, since my story pretends to be a near future possible realistic conflict based on actual political facts)

2 of the problems i see here are:
- the eu army c ould be hard to implement now u have already done the british army as a independent faction. Well it has some fixes, i could think of another. Ie. using the UE Rapid Reaction Force, the Eurocorps (leaders of the ISAF6 Force in Afghanistan) or Battlegroup as a faction (there is a btg wich fits perfectly, with france, germany, luxembourg, spain and belgium (the same nations wich are in the eurocorps btw), so all the france-germany fans will have their g36s, famas, leclercs and leopards :P ) or leave uk out of the eu military defence (They are closer to the united states after all)

- The eu army will need the creation of a whole new faction and thats a lot of coding. Well, maybe u could import some of the stuff POE2 developers have (ie g36 models and skins, wich are awsome btw) and also Euroforce booster pack (for the famas, the L85, the tiger chopper etc)

Well, let me know it if u are interested in, i will write a storyline with a big pleasure ^^

PS: btw i will also write some gameplay suggestions when i manage to finally download the uber 0'5 instalation file and play it for a bit :P

I've suggested adding European Rapid Reaction Force before. I know it would take lots and lots of work, but it might just be worth it. 1 kit = a soldier from 1 country. That way we could get lots of countries in, though again that would mean lots of new weapons to be modelled.

not really, many european countries use american weapons (ie, greece), but if u want euro-made weapons, u could use poe2 and and vanilla bf2 stuff. The main weapons u could need are basically for the main countries in the european union (germany (u have all the stuff u need in euroforce and poe2) england (special forces/project reality) and france (modded euroforce booster pack famas and maybe the leclerck tank). The other main european countries are not a need. Spain uses german weaponry mainly (leopard tanks, tiger choppers, eurofighters typhoon and g36 rifles), and u could maybe add some italian shotguns/pistols and/or austrian rifles, dunno.

The thing about adding a euro-army instead of the british or german armies is to get more supporters (not only a german, but also a latvian guy will be identified with a euro force) and also to create a more significant faction. Germany of Britain alone couldnt really match US military cappabilities in a international conflict, but a corditnated euroforce will. U also will have a lot of really interesting stuff ingame and give more options to create a decent storyline (the bigger ammount of more powerfull nations included=the bigger conflict u create= the more interesting it is ^^, thats basically why u find more WW2 games than Vietnamese war ones :P )

i kind of think so and also suggested euroforces before. dont think that brits should even be in game because they really have small army.

some equipment suggestions

MBT= Leopard 2a4/5/6 in use in most european armies
apc= Patria AMV XA-360. "new" and win many fieldtests in various countries
attack helo: eurocopter tiger
transport helo: eurocopter cougar AS532 or merlin

weapons: mp5, G3/g36, apilas, stinger, L115A1/l96a1.
those are used in various european countries

The main focus of 0.6 will be finishing the new respaw system and making commander more fun

then they will focus on finishing the british stuff

After that they will have time to think about new factions and stuff like that

- agreed, british main focus is navy (and maybe airbone), not land army, but obviously the devs are not gonna put all their work back, there are always other ways.
