Very annoying!!

Post by Tonedef »

Okay, I didn't know where to post this, it is a complaint, not PRMMs fault and not a suggestion so I put it here :) .

I was just playing on the DI server (before my game crashed when I pressed Join after a map load) and people, a lot of people, where doing the most annoying and cheap thing I have seen to date in BF2!

Now maybe this has come up before...to mad to search...but what they were doing (both teams) is all being Specs and planting C4 on a vehicle when they spawn jump in and drive around until they find other cars, groups of people, or tanks and jumping out while detonating the C4! They would drive along side tanks and do this also!

I don't know if this is something easy to stop...I thought that maybe if when you jump out of a moving vehicle you roll for a sec or 2. I don't know, I am sure you can think of something. But it was no fun...there was no teamwork at all! I won for most teamwork with 4 points!! 4!!!! (I was a medic, people where mainly blown up, can't help them then)

I don't care how difficult it is for you...it ruins the game for those who seriously want to play. If you want to do that **** go back to Vanilla BF2 and let us who want a good realism experience to enjoy it!

As for single player, AI is too predictable...I want to know I am fighting someone with a brain :) .

Its cheap and lame. Half the time they kill themselves in the process. Its quite annoying. I say increase the time between the switching to the detinator

a server option to enforce class limitations would solve this...should really only be a few spec ops, sniper, engineer, medics per server.

IMO a realism mod should "nudge", ok well flat-out force :D , the players to form balanced squads--make them dependent to a certain degree on the other kits and you will catalyze teamwork filled gameplay. lonewolfs should beware. should be the minority; grabbing a jeep to simply taxi past the action to steal a flag way in the back is lame and creates a boring repetitive circle-cycle of flag caping.

There are car bombings in real life, so why is it annoying?

i think the simple solution is maybe when you get out of a vehicle it takes a minute for you to get your weapon out, or of course in the future when there are animations for getting into and out of vehicles, car bombing will be eliminated in the process.

I know what you mean by this, it can be damn frustrating. However if you have been in clan matches and you will see many clans doing this as it is a viable tactic.

The best way to deal with this is to setup choke points on the maps with AT or Engineers to take them down before they get to your armor. Always keep armor away from close quarter combat and fire at long to medium ranges.

This is how DI have tried to deal with the infidels LOL

What you could do to deter this being "over used" in a game is a penalty to the player that has no respect for his life. If you can detect a players death from their own C4. Put a respawn penalty of 60 seconds.

This should put off players from over doing it, but allowing it to be done when it there is no alternative (as I think it is something that would be used in reality tbh).

Edit: Hey, not a bad idea for a server script :D might have a go at it.

It's pretty easy to come up with a simple solution for this. Just think 'Why doesn't this happen in real life'? Probably because jumping out of a vehicle moving at high speed will cause you to take serious damage.

So just implement that.

Or you are getting shot by mobile AA so you head for the hills, sweep down behind them dive in a bush and blow them to pieces and then spam the chat with I 0WN3D J00 N00B!

Or you implement that jumping from a fast traveling vehcile could kill you. Nice idea.

^id like that in the game you have to be going under 10 mph maybe 15 or something and youll be unharmed but going faster you get severly hurt or killed.
