Idea for Basrah or any other map w/o arty.
Ever notice that the commander is pretty much non-existent unless the map has arty? I didn't find anything like this so I figured I'd suggest it. On basrah, I am a squadleader 95% of the time I play it. I'd love to have arty on the map but it would be overpowered. What if the commander could call in a rocket or a bomb (just 1) with pin-point accuracy? It wouldn't be overpowered and it would make the comm position more desirable. Not sure if this is possible or not but it would be realistic because field commanders in RL can call in airstrikes from planes and choppers.

I mean it regenerates and he can use it again, but just 1 rocket hits the target. Like for instance say a hellfire rocket or something flys in and makes the same explosion of the bombs from planes or something, just a way for pin-point destruction of targets like a spawn car or a tank, etc.

I just played two rounds of the DevFile 24/7 alBasrah server.
First Round: Insurgents
I spent the whole round in a T62 (Well, there was the short time I was kicked from the server for telling someone to go f' themselves.) shooting down US air assets over the village while the rest of the team completely dominated the ground.
Second Round: USMC
I was commander; I coordinated air strikes, directed our armored column & infantry, I believe the round ended 120s - 0. Commanders are an important asset to a functioning team, their job is not just to call artillery, but to coordinate and relay information between squads.
If this idea were implemented, could we call it "Cartillery"?
EDIT: Moral of the story; Commanders are important whether there is artillery or not.

I hope you enjoyed the ride from the Airport, Through the Village, and all the way into Facility, courtesy of the Armoured Division. =) I believe we only got you killed once along the way.ReadMenace wrote:I just played two rounds of the DevFile 24/7 alBasrah server.
