So how about, instead of the +1 second we get to the spawn time every time we die it would be +2 or +3 seconds?

Why am I suggesting this? The main point is to make players more carefull about everything. They die a few times and it's already +10 seconds to the spawn time. Surely everyone wants to avoid that -> taking less risks. (just like in real life) It would also promote teamwork since the medic would become more important.

I already know some people will say that this would make the spawn time too long, but you can always avoid that by not getting killed. And I think the max spawn time is 1 minute. (though I wouldn't mind if this would be increased too, to say 1min 30s. But that is not the main thing in this thread)

well, isnt this becoming too extreme?

Its a game, where you kill others players, so its either you or him...
Making the punishment much bigger by each death would actually make people rather hide than attack, since they wouldnt want to die...making this a big game of hide and seek...

How about to remove this feature. I think that max spawn time should be 40 secs, no more. Long rounds are sooo boring from 3/4 to end, there's just no one to fight with.

I voted 3 seconds. But then again, i think it could be awesome to try out rounds where a kill means you’re out of the round.

That would make people teamwork very fast. And players would learn fast, just like irl where soldiers are forced to learn fast if he/she doesn’t want to get killed.

A special patch maybe, on a single server only?
Define irony. A bunch of guys playing PR year after year. A game teaching initiative as the prime mover.
However, in regard to EA, these guys never took the initiative.

It wouln't be fair as sometimes you just can't avoid your death which can be very cheap. An entire squad could be sniped from distance, smashed with heavy AT, bomb. etc. That would get people really cross.

Yeah, add a permanent death option, so youre out once dead....but first, you have to make people actually work together, or the gameplay will suck so much, no one would want to play it....theres still the issue with spec ops smacktards...second thought....let them learn the hard way...

Gotta agree on that one....reason, I voted 1+ sec....but if I could, I'd remove the death punishment and make the minimal spawn timer 30 seconds and max 45, or 1 min....

I think along with a download comes with cords, you just attach it to you, everytime you die, it gives you a shock...better than waiting 60 seconds.

The +1 is fine. No need to punish noobs and make people want those radar cheats and skin cheats even more.

I have said this before and I will say it again. I play games to pull off the hollywood bad ***. If that means I die 5 times trying to do the unbelievable once so be it. If you empliment a (higher) punishment for dying then you will not have anyone trying to be Audi Murphy and everyone will be cowaring in corners till the shooting stops. I am not here to play john smith from company A, I am here to try and be the biggest bad *** around. As much as you want it to be real this IS still a game and should be treated as such.

Also on some of the 30 sec then death penalty servers I will find myself getting bored with stairing at the sky and go play another game. I dont mind it so much when I am just dead and can watch from 3rd person, its just the whole nothing on the screen that makes me loose interest real quick.

There are (hopefully if we can make everything work right) going to be cases in v0.6 where you can cap out at FIVE minute respawn timers.

Personally I like the +1s. Yeah there are issues with it, but I like the fact that if I am at 41s I know that means 11 deaths (cuz we are looking to remove personal scoreboard visibility).
