4 Questions - Music, Rally Points, Kits and 2-seat Littlebird

Post by KomradePedrovsk »

Hey everyone I have a couple of noob questions that I would appreciate if you could answer them!

Could you tell me the name of the techno music that plays in the loading of the Al-Basrah map?

I've read the wiki but there is still some gameplay stuff I don't understand:

- Why in some maps is there an universal rally point that can be destroyed by the enemy? How do you put it back there again?

- Sometimes I could ask for a kit from my squad's rally point but there were other times that it said I wasn't in a resupply zone. Why is that?

- Why can I not ask for a kit in all the flag zones that my team has control of?

- I've tried taking off with the 2-seat Littlebird but it seems to keep stuck to the ground and then flip over! I've made sure I had the pilot kit as well! Any tips?

Thanks in advance!

Hi thanks fro playing!

NO idea!!!

ITs a mapper placed rally point that is only temporary adn can be destroyed. It may respawn or it may not depending on the map

- Sometimes I could ask for a kit from my squad's rally point but there were other times that it said I wasn't in a resupply zone. Why is that?

Kits can be obtained from main bases/Rallypoint and APCs only

- Why can I not ask for a kit in all the flag zones that my team has control of?

Main bases only

- I've tried taking off with the 2-seat Littlebird but it seems to keep stuck to the ground and then flip over! I've made sure I had the pilot kit as well! Any tips?

wait till it has warmed up...(about 30seconds)(it needs it each time = reality)

Thanks in advance![/QUOTE]

hehehe..talking about the music, when you log into your account and the music starts up, I keep on expecting the Mission Impossible theme to start playing.

As far as your questions are concern - yeah..what IronTaxi says.
And if you're going to try to fly the LB for the first time, please do it on your own Local Server and practice first (search for threads on how to get this set up). Flying is sooo different from vBf2. I can take off and fly around ok, but can't land without taking 10 mins to line everything up. So I let others fly.

Haha. OK IronTaxi, thanks for playing, and better luck next time ;) .

Just kidding. But you do need to re-read his question.

To the OP. Heavy AT and Shoulder-Fired AA can only be requested from the main base. And crewman kits can only be requested from an APC if it's within 100m of the main base. I don't know if you can get crewman kits from RPs.

1. we did not crate it, it came with a custom map (which we have dropped now) and duckhunt decied to use it on basrah.

2. they are mapper placed rally points, but Squad Leaders with Officer kits can also place down rally points.

3. you need to get closer to the rally point :p

4. you can only request kits from main base flags (the last flag in the AAS order), rally points, APCs and supply drops.

5. you need the pilot kit to fly choppers and jets. without it your rotas will infact not move (maybe in 1p they do, but not 3p). the sound is a bug that we cant stop.

Thanks for the answers and warm welcome!

Do know any way I can extract the music as a sound file?

I've tried to fly the Littlebird by creating a Local Server but I need pilot kit and can't ask for it even when in squad. Perhaps it's because the game hasn't started since it was only me on server.

Also... Maverick89, thanks for your kind input but I know enough about music to keep me satisfied. I don't know in which category you would put the music in, but to me it's either Trance/Techno as long as there's some kind of electronic or synthesizer instrument or computer involved in the music, which in this case there clearly is.

Thanks.

open up the concel and type in i think the command is "sv.numplayersneededtostart 1" without the quotes and press enter, then the game should start, crate a squad, and ask for a pilot kit :)

The only kits you can't request from a rally point are Heavy AT and Rifleman AA - if you attempted to request those kits from the rally point it would have given you the 'Wrong supply zone' message.
Wasn't me.

Thanks.

Where your BF2 is installed, in Battlefield 2\mods\pr folder you will find common_client zip archive.
Make a copy of this archive at some other place (desktop ex.) and unpack it.
There you will find all sounds but they are in ogg file format, so you need some ogg to mp3 file converter. Download some good little freeware software converter and enjoy.

The LittleBird will flip over in fantastic fashion alot of the times you try to take off for some reason (bug mayby). All you can do is try to balance it as you start to take off and hope for the best.
You can get all kits from Supply Crates, APC rear or main base flag.
All except AA/AT from rally points.
Pilot from all choppers and planes.
Crewman from any vehicle that needs a crewman kit.
The music files are in:C:\Program Files\EA GAMES\Battlefield 2\mods\pr\common_client.zip There under sound/menu/music and are all .ogg files so you'll need a converter, the music for Al-abarash is called khrimson-music.ogg

Nah, just let it the LB warm up a little extra and take it easy at first. As soon as you get the hang of the handling, you'll get better and better at it. It's when you want to take off after insertions that it tends to get really wild and funky. A little off and you'll go sideways when you throttle up again. It just takes a lot of practice. In singleplayer, preferably.
