Fix Bayonets!
Hmm I was looking at the 'Combat Knife' for the Marines and realized it was an M9 Bayonet... I was wondering if you guys plan to make a new USMC mulitpurpose bayonet (I believe its called the M10) or maybe even a Ka-Bar USMC Fighting Knife to replace the M9 or are you going to leave it how it is?

I think he means different knives / bayonets in that slot, not fixed to the rifle. Or am I incorrect?TerribleOne wrote:i think it was confirmed bayonets are a possibility.
If that is what you mean, then yes, we have considered and will have fighting knives/bayonets appropriate to the nation-state/service branch/class. The Marines do use the M7 and M9 bayonets in addition to the Kabar fighting knife. The MPB (Ontario Knife Company model OKC-3S) is new-issue, so not sure if we'll be including it or not.

As they are a very active part of the British Army, yes, they (and their kukris) are a possibility.TerribleOne wrote:I took it like that but i could have miselead from what he said. Anyway while were on the track of knifes.
GHURKAS!!!! will thse troops be in at least a little bit along with there knifes???
The problem is making their player model in-scale.

Huh . . . now what does that resemble . . . ?

Not to run off topic, but I heard a story somewhere of a British unit doing training/tactic excersices against the Ghurkas. The British woke up one morning with a good amount of the solders having a red "X" on their forheads. Meaning they would have met those nasty knives if they were really the enemy..
How true is it? I have no idea lol

haha i think the other guy is over average in his height. they arnt all that small!
Allthough they mostly are smaller i think
. but they can take an explosion and then roll around and not get hurt, not to mention they are trained to attack an enemy soldier where it hurts the most.
the post above is probably true. they are very good at what they do and are possibly unmatched in rough terrain. - not to mention they probably walked uner the side of the tent without disturbing the sleeping troops when you look at the image above.

Im guessing on this, but im guessing it was like a training excersise, where a group of British soldiers were sent out into to field to simulate warfare, when in the field, they had to learn how to setup proper defensive stratigies while at night, well they were sleeping, people went in and marked those who could be killed without alerting the others, so if it were real war, those with the red X would have been dead.Hoss wrote:Not to run off topic, but I heard a story somewhere of a British unit doing training/tactic excersices against the Ghurkas. Ghurkas are the nicest friendliest people you will ever meet! And that story does not surprise me. It is not irregular for games to be played between sections such as these, and the Ghurkas do have a sense of humour that would fit that tale. On the flaklands islands, they managed to single handeldy wipe out the penguins from the island by eating them all. They do carry a symbolic knive/machete with them (can't remember its name) and are trained to use it often. OK sorry just lost my trail of thought... dog ate dinner... gonna order a kebab for us all!Hoss wrote:Not to run off topic, but I heard a story somewhere of a British unit doing training/tactic excersices against the Ghurkas. IM not 100%, but i remember watching a ghurka gut a penguin on the deck of HMS Hermes. Later on he had a rather large crowd gathering around him in bemuesmant. Apparently though just looking it up they were not made extinct. Must have been one of those old wives tales I take it. I never tried it though no, It can't really imagine it being that tasty, must have been covered in blubber![R-DEV wrote:Eddie Baker]Is that for real, Homer?Beckwith wrote:they ate all the penguins![]()
