Chinese Weapons: QBZ95 and PF89 Scope
There is a number of inaccurate representations of Chinese weapons in the mod (I don’t blame you guys, its hard getting accurate information). The DEVs are probably very busy so I’ll just name two at the time:
• Type 95 characteristics
• PF89 scope
Because this forum does not support excel tables and I'm too lazy to rewrite the charts so that it work with this forum, download the complete word document here.

On the whole is the QBZ95 a "good" weapon? I shall wiki it...

Yes, in my opinion, overall QBZ95 is a reliable and decent weapon. Of course, how "good" it is depends on the situation.
type95 is great in close combat, has a very light recoil, and yet still performs well in med/long range combat.
a lot of complains you hear about it mostly comes from old-PLA soldiers who were not used to the bullpup design, but as the PLA are getting used to this weapon, it proves to be very effective.
BTW, the three round burst is not available to the standard version used by most of PLA, however, the export version (the one chambered for 5.56) has this capability and the special forces/ PAP sometimes customize their guns to have the three round burst as well.

The scope looks "busy" because it's shrunken and I was copying it from a PLA handbook using MS paint, the lines are actually quite thin and it is also quite effective and easy to use.Clypp wrote:The scope crosshairs look almost unusable they are so busy.
So, it has less stopping power and less range than the M-16 but has more piercing rounds.
And yes, the QBZ95 has SLIGHTLY less stopping power and range, but has more armor piecing capabilities and lower recoil. The idea behind this weapon is to give the infantry a lightweight gun that will provide superb close/medium range firepower. The long range targets are supposed to be taken care off by the QBU88s. Usually, in a squad of 8 soldiers there are at least two or moreQBU88s and one LSW (or SAW whatever you want to call it)
Regarding QBZ03, What probably end up happening is the army will receive this weapon, while the airborne and marines will get the QBZ95. There isn’t much information on what the PLA is actually going to do with the gun, for all I know they might make it a soldier’s choice whether to use the 95 or the 03. The QBZ03 is not a replica of the AKs, the internal mechanisms and other things are different. The only reason this weapon exists is because the old/hard-liner PLA soldiers are not used to the 95 and think it looks like a toy.
BTW, have you (the DEV) looked at/listened to the video file yet? The sound of the current QBZ95 is very inaccurate, it sounds like a wimpy SMG. It would be excellent if you guys could change the sound.
Thank, great job on the mod so far, keep up the great work.

Page 24 of the manual shows the sights of a Chinese RPG-7, wich differ from the Russian ones. I suppose the PF-89 use something nearly identical.

I listened to it, and hopefully our sound effects man did too.PRC_Heavy_Z wrote:BTW, have you (the DEV) looked at/listened to the video file yet? The sound of the current QBZ95 is very inaccurate, it sounds like a wimpy SMG. It would be excellent if you guys could change the sound.

Since the Chinese forces in PR are still using the Type 56 AR could the devs perhaps include the much forgotten Type 81 AR as well in the form of a pick-up ?
7.62x39 Type 81-1 assault rifle, folding butt version, left side
Type 81S (late production export version with fixed butt) assault rifle (top) and Type 81MGS light machine gun (bottom)
