Operation Greasy Mullet

Post by system »

I have found a mapping error on Operation Greasy Mullet. As you can see by these screenshots the Helicopter pad is slightly above where it's supposed to be. Maybe the team will be able to fix this for 0.6!

As you can see in this last screenshot, when the Helicopter spawns, it's slightly off center. Thus making it hard to take off. Maybe because it spawns into the Helipad, I'm not sure.

Yeah I reported that in the map feedback thread days ago. Don't think many people like the map so nobody saw it AFAIK.

But it does, it makes it hard to take off... :-(

Is it not an easy fix? Open in the equivalent of Hammer and move the objects down?

It's 1 minuite of their time they would rather not spend or something.

hardly a miniute.

the BF2 editor is not hammer, it takes a fecking long time to load, like 5 to 10mins and then once its there, you would have to smooth the heightmap so that it was at excatly the right level for all the objects, then you would have to save it in such a way that it would not conflict with all the other detail maps, lightmaps etc which im not 100% is possible or not, then it might be ok, now that could take 20mins to solve all of thous problems, thats 20mins i could put towards a bug that did effect gameplay alot more or spend that time making anouther map.

Don't call Greasy Mullet a map, so indeed do not put time in it.
Better disable it.

I would beg to differ. It does affect game play as it deprives a team of a valuable resource. It's all well and good for you to say it doesn't affect game play but until you have tried to take off the Eurocotper from that pad without once bailing so it doesn't tip, it's probably best that you hush until you have mastered it and can pass on your valuable resource of knowledge to those that can't.

I would also be thinking that after a long test run on mullet, that there could be something wrong with the Eurocopters model also, which would make it much more prone to tipping compared to the littlebird etc.

If you dont believe me, try and just get the Eurocopter to take off vert without touching your mouse. It will always tip, no matter where it is.

Thinner sparks, those 20 minutes spent doing this could go towards making those sparks thinner, damn sparks ruining my realism experiance.
