I don't mean to overlap with the whole "realism of the MEC" topic since it got locked (in a realistic FPS realistic combat mechanics are what's important, not realistic politics), but the MEC's lineup of weaponry and accompanying explaination seems odd. Where would a middle eastern coalition find the money to outfit their army entirely with new AK-101's a 5.56mm ammunition only to toss it out and replace it a few years later with old HK weaponry and 7.62mm ammo?
Wouldn't it make more sense if the story went that the MEC began with old G3A3's and HK21-E's and was in the process of transitioning to modern AK-101's?

My understanding that it was "part of the story" came from this link: http://guide.realitymod.com/index.php?title=MEC_Weapons
If it's going to go universally to the G3 in future versions, that makes more sense, though I think a middle eastern coalition would probably use a lot of old kalashnikovs as well. If they were going to attempt to adopt NATO weaponry, aquiring some old surplus MBR's seems more feesible than buying a bunch of shiny new hybrid stuff.
