If you've chosen the pilot kit...Please pleaseplease do not:
tip over the choppers on take off
crash into each other on landing
hover between enemy aa guns because it looks cool to hover
land in the middle of the carrier while jets are trying to rearm/repair
take off with one guy in the blackhawk while six teammates are running towards you
and for the love of Jesus, "yes" that was a perfectly soft landing but why on God's green earth would it be tactically acceptable TO DROP A FULL SQUAD INTO THE CENTER OF A T INTERSECTION IS SWARMING WITH ENEMY TROOPS? :d uh:
I'll let your imaginations run wild on what happened with the last one...
And just one more humble request to all you troops out there waiting for a chopper..... when you see a different squad (other than your own) waiting for a transport chopper to lift them to the front lines, please allow the entire squad to get in and move as a unit instead rushing to take a seat that breaks up the squad. Thank you.
It really pisses me off to see four noobs take all of the littlebirds in muttrah, and i'd ask them "are you sure you can fly?" i'd get a "roger that" then see 4 helicopters flip over the edge of the carrier. i'll admit the first time i got in a chopper I flipped over, but I asked a veteran to help me. now I can fly troop insertion runs in al basrah without crashing and I RTB when needed. too many times pilots think their choppers are invincible, and when they die those four minutes without air support can mean the difference between a squad being wiped out or a squad capping one or two points.
True that guys, the other thing that bugs me, especially about the cobra is how some people will take off without a gunner altogether, this poses a question though..
If i'm a cobra pilot but my boy wants to be my gunner, do I take off and wait for him to spawn and get his kits while hovering at the airfield, or take some other guy that I don't know, and possibly have a nice run?
Looking to join another Highspeed PR Clan? Any takers?

Seconded.

Today, on TG, this insane noob crashed a FULL little bird right into the side my little bird (also full). (Can't remember the name of the map, the one with the dam)
His name was something like T. Hooker or something of that nature. It was a single letter followed by the name "Hooker".
So if you see him get into a chopper. DO NOT GET IN. Team kill him for the sake of everyone else in the chopper or just vote kick him out.
He entirely ruined two full squads, rendering our assault ineffective.
or if you ARE EXPERIENCING LAG. This is the #1 killer for helicopter crashes, aside #2 is AA, and #3 is not wearing a helmet/seatbelt. If you know you can fly but you feel some lag. DONT FLY.

I still have the taste of bamboo in my mouth, ever since you crashed that Merlin in Ghost train due lag
Yea, and in Al Basrah you get so much lag, especially when flying....I remember, my Commander told me to strafe the Village, when i was in the a10 and I crashed into it...if you got a lag spike, its better to go up than down...
Agreed. I've spent a lot of time this week creating local servers or starting up the FCW server just so I could fly around and practice. I don't want to put myself in a combat situation and fail the ground troops when they need a drop or pickup.
I generally have no lag issues - I have issues with SL's who want the helo put down on a hill. The interaction between the bird and a slope is no good. Dynamic rollover my ***, this stuff is insane. Performing the most delicate of landings to find a slight bump of the skid on a slope turning the entire bird on its head is most annoying...
Oh, that and Squads that won't jump at 2 feet AGL. Its not going to hurt you, and I'm not going to land. Get off.

Thats my only problem. Specially at Muttrah City.
I never know if there is an hidden RPG waiting that I drop some people on street, roof, desert or water.
The only Landingzone there that is always safe from RPGs or AA is the top of the container crane.

Did not want to insult anyone ... he he. And I was being sarcastic.
Btw you link to the FLV did not work. Dammit. I was hoping to see what happens when someone with less than regular intelligence tries to fly a chopper.

Huh, lag... it kills more than TK. At least the lag kills are funny.

LOL, I was in that game. Granted, I am new to PR but everyone seemed to agree that crash at the beginning cost us the match.
The title of this thread says it all. I've rode with many 'good' pilots who handled the aircraft well, but they NEVER thought ahead of time as to how to land or attack an area. Usually they just go to the area without thinking of tactical advantages of landing/coming from N,S,W or E.
When I fly BH with a full load, I constantly check my minimap so I land them behind the frontline troops already in combat. That way they get sent in as re-inforcement and the chances of an enemy ambush is minimized. That is, unless of course they ask me to drop them somewhere else or chance a landing in a hot, hot zone.
