The Official April Fools day thread.

Well, It's that day of the year, and what started out as a simple plan went to quite an impressive feat as the Devs pulled off quite a stunt.

We have publically posted the thread on the general discussion forum here:

It all started with Rhino saying that April Fools is coming and we should all get ready, and "ban the Devs" so to speak. So, J.S created a secret login name called "PrFan" who had acess to the dev forums so that the banned devs could at least get to the forums (this proved quite comical once we caught onto the idea that we could write whatever we wanted, and no-one would know who it was).

However, being the PR team, we decided to take it on step further and bring in the idea of a conspiracy within PR. So, by starting up a mysterious thread a few days before, a few devs and I got the ball rolling. The night before the thread was re-opened and we began spreading the mysterious news once again. It all ended with devs suddenly being banned and dissapearing, then the MOD hijacking the PR site.

Discuss the April fools joke here, we got a few of you!

I was on a server at midnight last night and some guy started freaking out that the PR website was down. No one believed him at first, so I checked but thought April fools right away. Good try though

got me, i even rang my friends and uncle to tell them PR had been seized by the MOD and to look outside there houses for white vans lol

You didn't get me to start with but then I tried to play PR and I couldnt log in. I then searched net for key names metioned and adresses which didnt show up so got very confused.

After paniking and tellign everyone in my house, i read the "MOD" thing again carefully and fully, to read the above 2 words and then it hit me, i was a gulible ***!

However when my mum saw the "MOD" thing, she said it was a hoax becuase the hand written thing on the first page was too messy to have been written by a proper civil cervant/ mod man - both parents work for gov so they sort of know.

But all round, a true hair raiser that sent shockwaves around the world, i even said a FCKING PRayer for you NOBS, especialy Evilhomer, DAMN you !!!!!!1

Sorry guys, I've been immune to these things ever since PlanetQuake announced that they were selling the site off back in the 1990s. Sad thing is that they did end up selling it to Rupert Murdoch and his evil empire in the end anyay <sigh>.

It was about 10 seconds of sheer confusion before the penny dropped and I clicked on the image.
Actually never read beyond the capital word "SUSPENDED" until Dylan asked if I'd read the whole thing.

But really, if you think about it, if it really had been some sort of anti terror bust the site would simply have been gone. Poof. Without a trace.
There would NOT have been any official documents to make poor photocopies of. IF it had been for real that is.

It was a good one though and now we can get back to normal..... Or whatever state of mind that represents normality around here.

Divulging how the MOD is curently unable to do fast roping because of hard coding restraints.

If the insurgents got hold of that they could just Have RPG gunners on all the good landing sites and easily retake Basrah.
