Mortar Kit ( US/UK )

Post by Swe_Olsson »

Excuse me if this has already been posted, may be locked/deleted if neccesary!

I have thought and thought about this, and when someone calls for artillery/mortar fire they give a cordinate, like E-5 just an example on the "Battlefield Map" ...

What if there was 1 to 2 requestable kits - Mortar Kits - Which will include a Mortar & 5 Rounds of 2 Different Ammo, 5 Cluster/HighExplosive bombs & 5 Cocktail/Napalm Bombs..
Pistol
Knife
Pickup Smoke Granades
Field Dressings

a Squad Leader uses a soflam , to send a specified cordinate to the Stationed Mortar Gunner - Has he Sees text on top left screen

Sgt. Jackass Request's Mortar/Artillery Fire & This Cordinates E-8

I know that E 8 is a big area, on a big map, But remember this is just a sudjestion for now ? ....

After a Shot of the Mortar it takes 10 seconds to reload, then he can send the next round...

As i said above he has 2 different types of ammo - one which is good against infantry and one thats good against both infantry/vehicles...

Thanks for Reading Guys ;)

An easy option would be to have the CO put down attack markers down for the mortar sqd. They, through prior testing, would know the tradjectory for flat ground at that range and would addjust as commanded by the CO or a forward observer.
I thought this would have been the general consensus anyway.
