At least bring back the tear gas ....we can pretend the insurgents are hippies and it's 68 in Chicago again.
And as the windshield melts
My tears evaporate
Leaving only charcoal to defend.
Finally I understand the feelings of the few.

You "capture" civilians. (aka, knife them and kill them)

that's enough control I think

But tear gas would give area denial w/o killing them
So i guess rubber bullets and pepper spray paintball guns are not coming soon either ?

how about adding tear gas to the engineer, that way if a civilian gets to close to a construction project they'll get a surprise in the form of the "LSD effect".
in SF i thought i was the only person who enjoyed tear gas/gas masks.

In the meantime, US President George Bush has authorized the use of tear gas in Iraq, which could be a violation of the Chemical Weapons Convention that states that “each state party undertakes not to use riot control agents as a method of warfare.”

“It won’t be the first violation that the United States commits If it uses tear gas,” Krayyim said. “They have also used cluster bombs in the war on Iraq.”

you could call an insurgent a rioter.
just keep tear gas out of MEC/PLA maps

If you throw a flashbang into a crowd? Wouldn't like to know what would happen.

One thing, how many points do you get for "knifing" a civilian "ingame"?

This thread makes me laugh.
Watercannons? We are not talking about riot police here, its the british army.
They dont use them in the real Basra either.
Tear gas? Also isn't used.

Flashbangs are used against civilians in Iraq.

Actually water cannons have been deployed by the British army, most notably in Northern Ireland. And I wouldn't be surprised If they've been used In basra too.
