yeah, the call to prayer i forgetthe words but that would add to the immersion.
What would be better is if you could have the prayer sound 5 times duing the round but I don't think the engine would support that and you would need the timer on anyway and most servers don't use the timer.

My opinion is that it, if added, would not add any gameplay enhacement that would justify the work required to accomplish it. I don't think there is enough, if any at all, gameplay benefits that would justify working on such a thing.
It would be, possibly, hours of work (conservative aproximation) in order to add something that would be ignored about 1 or 2 seconds after being noticed.

If it was a range limited thing it would always be noticed.
"If I can hear the muzzin(sp) then I am within x meters of the mosque"
If it is a huge PIA, then no. it isn't worth it but at some point more immersive sounds would be cool.

Teek, I already submitted an Islamic acapella tune for the jihad cars but it was refused on moral grounds I believe. I don't think egg wants to chance the controversy that might ensue.Teek wrote:Jaymz: Find a Call To Prayer, make it a mosque ambient.

hmm i think its a tad unrealistic because in the Basrah map briefing it said: ''all civilians have been evacuated'' so why would there be a prayer still goofing around in a mosque while tanks are rolling around and hard battles are being fought? so.. my vote: No

Lets go apesh1t over the PC ****........durka is a generic if not totally complimentary term for residents of the ME region.
It shouldn't be used but it is and of all the problems in the world it's pretty minor.
@Jay.....is there no way to have the sound loop include long periods of silence so it replicates somewhat the 5 calls to prayer and you don't have to listen to it over and over if you are stationed nearby ?

I know nothing about the subject but it seems you could have a loop that was 1 hour long and had 5 - 5minute prayers equally distanced in the loop.
I can see why the acapella song would not make the cut for the bomb car but this isn't religio/politico it's just ambient sound.
As far as the evacuation of civilians, the insurgents would still need to pray and the call could be taped and when the evac'd they forgot to turn off the tape.

OK, let me explain.
The "durkha prayer" as "Ferosuis" kindly put it is known as the "Salah".
It happens 5 times a day. Can't remember, but I think they last about an hour.
If it were to be put in Al Basrah, it would have to coincide with the correct times when they are played. (The mapper decides the time of the map).
It would also have to be played throughout the whole city as it's not only played in the mosque.
