Im just curious, what do you say to "them"

? they don't reply or they tell you to stfu, might also be the way you talk to "them"

Keep in mind that if you invite people to cooperate by telling them where to go to cover your squad most will do it...
but still there are the irreductibles lonewolves
you say you kick them out of the squad
ok
and you don't want them back
ok
you know you can lock the squad right?
this usually prevent them from joining it back... ;-)

Lock the squad for a bit so he is forced to go somewhere else if he/she want to get stuff. This works really well on the Tactical Gamer server where you have to join a squad within a time limit (2 minutes I think?) or they're kicked. Just unlock a little later when he/she is in a different squad or left.

Aye, that it does. Usually taking the piss out of their voice just before you kick them works too.

I also have a rule in my squad that I let all squad members know: no snipers.

You have to try softlee softlee catchee monkee the first time.
See if they can hear you even if they can't respond on VIOP.
If they don't respond in any way to you then kick and lock.
Telling little kids to F ck off isn't really a good idea since they may come back and TK you since their lil egos were bruised.
And as the windshield melts
My tears evaporate
Leaving only charcoal to defend.
Finally I understand the feelings of the few.

good advise already but in the last 4 weeks i have had also no propblem with squad members on the TG server, this is for 2 reasons:

1) 95% of the players on the server wnat to work as a team and use tactics, they might fail
due to lack of knowelge or skill, but the desire is there.

2) Excellent communication between me and my squad members, this means i recieve the info and support i need to get the job done, or atleast make a good hack at it.

For good communication, try the following:

Say "hello" to all members, and determine which players have mikes and that all the squad can hear you. To do this, look at the squad menu/list as you speak and their VOIP icon will light up if they respond (know name of who is speaking), and if they dont have VOIP< ensure you get a text responce.
You can combine this with kit order/selection, by getting each player to call their name out, followed by their kit. This forces all players to communicate WITH ALL OTHER PLAYERS IN THE SQUAD. From this simple exercise, you can determine whether you have got good communication with your squad.

PRecise adviseon the kit selectoin method:

Have a mini plan in your mind of what kits you KNOW the map will require. 100% of the time, you need 2 medics and 1 rifleman, and 90% of the time you need a L-AT. So say to the entire squad:

"I require the following kits, 2 medics, 1 rifleman and 1 L-AT, that is 2 medics, 1 rifleman and 1 L-AT, please call you name out followed by your kit, thank you"

3 -respond and you take note of kits already taken.

"We still need 1/2 **kit name**, **player name** or **player name** can you go **kit/s still required**, thanks".

THIS TEST CAN NOT FAIL TO PRODUCE RESULTS. THere are 3 specific results to expect, and there are no others, they are:

1) - entire squad responds with name and kit, all players make communication through VOIP or TEXT = top notch squad dicipline.

2) - some squad members respond with name and kit, but some do not make any form of communication = good squad dicipline but need to work extra hard to ensure it is perfect.

3) - no squad members respond with name and kit = the chance of good squad dicipline is verging on 0, but the fault could lye in both yours or theirs hands.

For number 2, indervidualy ask the players who have not responded through VOIP and TEXT (voip often does not normaly work and you cant randomly kick some poor guy who either does not know his VOIP does not work or cant help it). This effort shows to all thsoe who can see and hear, YOU CARE ABOUT EVERY INDERVIDUAL SQUAD MEMBERS, you respect each and every one, therefore they willl regonise this and show respect back = squad disipline

For number 3 you should ask all players if they can hear your VOIP becuase there is a greater chance it is a problem with your communication systems, rather than theirs. If it is not, tells every last one of them to get a mike, becuase it makes your life very difficult and near impossible if they cant communicate over VOIP.
O, and be prepared to be a mad man, lots of VOIP comm on your part and none on theirs, but if you dont speak, then communication is effectively dead and the result is, bollocks squad dicipline.

Hope the above helps.

I had one fellow Hx. go SL and had one of those lonewolf snipers in our squad. He asked, he pleaded ... then from out of nowhere I heard "@@@@ @@@@ your @@@@@ and @@@@ give coverfire."

8-| But hey, that worked.

Do you need a special headset to use VoIP? I have a mic (albeit a badly-suited one, i have to hold it in order to use it) and I haven't tried yet.

Speaking on topic, I would keep talking to them, and if no response comes, then kick and lock. Maybe even try to integrate them into the squad, pretend that they aren't doing it just for kills. You can say, for example, "Hey Person X, what do you see up there? Any enemies that we should be aware of?" Or something like that.

Just a really basic mic is all you really need.

I had my mic stuck to my desk lamp for several years so i didn't have to hold it.. stick it to your monitor or something.. holding it may be a 'little' of a hinderance, you dont need!" But a $1 mic is all you really need.

Well, first thing.. people rejoin the squad cos they need a spawn point.
If they rejoin - wait for them to die, then kick them again. 8-)

But you don't need to discipline fragfest lonewolfs, there are plenty ppl interested in good teamwork squad. If some guy doesn't want to follow your orders, like, he's joined the squad just to get some limited kit - he's not doing anything wrong, when you think about it. Plus, that could be some 8 years old kid, who think he's playing singleplayer with improved AI.
What you should be doing is looking for a good replacement.

I think I found an elegant solution to this problem.
I name my squad "Squad of 5" (or "5ppl squad", I still havent found the catchy name), and I say: "I can't work with full squad, if we have 6 ppl, I'll be forced to kick somebody". ;)
As long as we have 5 SMs, it's business as usual... but when we get the 6th member - well, the sniper is out. :) Next time - M4s (if I don't need them).
And all the time I go "Sorry, this squad is too big - and you PLAYER are too far away from the objective".
I started this 2 days ago, it's too early to talk about results, but it's going fine so far.
