Destroying enemy vehicules
Yesterday I was playing AlBasrah as insurgent, and while running trought the streets I found an abandoned hummve. I had a rocket launcher, and wondered: should I destroy it?.
Am I doing the enemy a favor by destroing it, if it respawns faster at their base? I'm sure that destroying the blue spawn cars is usefull for USMC because that way you limit the spawn options for the insurgents, but does that apply to the humvees, trucks, or motorcycles too?.
What do you think? it's usefull to destroy abandoned vehicules or you just let them be?

If I have mines, I like mining abandoned vehicles. For some reason, people fail to notice the huge mine warning most of the time. I also destroy empty vehicles that are along the way of an enemy assault, even if they're empty - I don't want somebody hopping in the 50 cal and unloading on my position; not to mention that somebody could be crouching in there already. If I see a stupidly abandoned Humvee somewhere, I'll just leave it and feel bad for the USMC.

muralito, on the hmmwvs with a .50 you walk into the back near the gun, on the apc's just go to the rear of it to re-arm, also works with technicals, so if you are looking for ammo and know where a destroyed technical / hmmwv / apc is then just use those ! i've noticed though that recently blown up apcs disappear after i've re-armed off of them, not sure but it never seemed this way before??

I'd say this is providing the US are a decent 'thinking' team.'[R-PUB wrote:Hfett']If you are a Insurgent, and saw a Humvee somewere, place some Ide's and wait =)
The other day an abrams was abandoned in the desert, I stuck 3 IED's on it and waited.
And waited and waited and waited for 20 odd minutes.
It's a bloody tank you idiots!!! Come and get it!!!

I see abandoned tanks a lot and even abandoned Black Hawks, like the pilot landed them...said screw it, and then ran off through the city with his pistol.
Black Hawks are really good for resupply too. The only problem is it seems as though vehicles stop resupplying after a while, even if they aren't destroyed. Is this intentional?
APCs I don't think last as long as wreckage as the Humvees do, but I could be wrong.

Yes, intentional. You either have to wait longer or the ammo in the vehicle is gone... There is limited ammunition in certain vehiclesNijil wrote:Black Hawks are really good for resupply too. Blackhawk retrieval is to PR what pilot CSAR is to real life. Sometimes you have to go to great lengths to retrieve a BH that someone parked in the middle of nowhere for no reason.
All vehicles with ammo run out of ammo eventually, I believe. As long as the vehicle doesn't get crowded by ammo hungry soldiers like an ice cream truck in the middle of a playground, it'll last a while, though.

The problem with the abandoned tank/apc is that you can't get the crewman kit in the field, so usually I don't destroy them (watch them in the case of the APC for resuppliers).
I don't know why I had not experienced this before, but twice in the last week I was forced to "crash land" a chopper due to damage. The unit did not blow up but it would not fly either. Not wanting to be the inconsiderate noob who leaves the chopper in the middle of the desert, I hoofed it back to the airfield, switched to crewman kit, brought the magic truck out to fix the chopper (my gunner stayed with it to keep it from self destructing), then returned the major truck and requested a new pilot kit.daranz wrote: Sometimes you have to go to great lengths to retrieve a BH that someone parked in the middle of nowhere for no reason.

I was on Quai river last night, and came across a USMC humvee in the street behind the Govt Office. It was a TWO humvee. I did not blow it up (being as I was heavy AT) as I didn't want them to get the humvee back at base and whatnot.
Well, it turned out to be a mistake -- I helped to capture the area, and about 10 minuites later was running back towrds the humvee. I pistoled a guy to death who was near by, but the TOW was hot...ended up losing that H. AT kit...

1_man_wrecking_crew, and I where flying in the cobra, we overflew the palace, but we lost engine power, had to put down near the bridge and hotel. I died, but miracuously Crew survived in the cobra, which was disabled. I re spawn engineer at airport and hop aboard my squad mates (Zack) BH with his crew chief, (also engi) we fly back to the area, we get dropped off and wrench the Cobra to full health!Liquid_Cow wrote: I don't know why I had not experienced this before, but twice in the last week I was forced to "crash land" a chopper due to damage.
