Ok did anyone have BAttlefeild veitnam? OK in that game(lower engine that BF2) U could change what ur chartacter looked like. Here a a list of options for a US soldier:
1)Black Body
2)White body
3)Hat
4)Helmet
5)Bag(in a mod)
6)No bag(in a mod)
Ok so can the Devs do this it would be reallly cool So can the Devs do this or not.

I don't mind a little customization between player models... Hell, it'd be cool to see different rifleman with different backpacks and bags on themselves. However, I think customizing player models sounds hardcoded...
Now that there are only a few base kits (that you don't have to request) there should be something like "Caucasian Medic", "Black Medic" so you can choose what your base kit look like then if you request an other kit you stay black... or white...

But that adds up to 8 different classes. Only 7 available. Nice idea though. But how should we do about the other armies? Beard/no beard for MEC? Fat or thin for Chinese?

Maybe the same thing but with helm/no helm or the type of camo... ect...
Eh, pretty cool idea I guess, but then it's also not a cool idea IMO. I really don't think it's a huge deal whether your character is black or white on the battlefield (no, I am not going to say African American because not every black person is from Africa). And honestly, it really shouldn't matter in the least. It wouldn't affect game play at all and it's just one more thing to do on the already full plate that the devs are working with.
well, what you could use is the weapon unlock thing for BF2 and make the weapon "attached" to a model, so attached to the weapon is the desired playermodel. if it was hardcoded, thats how i would do it, however it would look really silly when you point up and the model swings up too...
