Limited Kit idea

Post by 3===SPECTER===3 »

For one thing, I think the Spec Ops kit should be a limited kit. But on to my kit idea, how about a SFSP. Special Forces Surpressed. this is the same exact special forces kit, but it will have silencers. It would come in handy on some of the new and up coming night maps. Use stealth to capture flags, and it could and add more of a tactical and teamwork type feel.

This kit idea isnt just for special forces, we could bring back the v.32 marksman type urban sniper on the maps that require it, and we could also look into modeling a long range sniper that is silenced.

Good idea or bad idea?

Special forces really shouldn't be in battlefield 2 at all.

But in RL Special forces are a very active and important part.... PR has said they want to include other branches of the army and this would just be a useful idea for when they do that.

1) special forces being deployed to a normal infantry squad as they usually are in PR is not realistic

2) Special Forces wouldn't usually be acting so close or at the same time as the rest of the action.

no you mis understood me. they would be their own army type. They wouldnt be a class with the marines, but an idea for when or if PR decides to put a SEALs or SAS faction in the game.

Yeah my origional comment was a bit of a tangent

But no offense:
You are thinking more along the lines of the vbf2 special forces expansion.
When was the last time you think the navy seals were deployed as a 64 man force in real life? Never. And if you cut down the number of seals on their team, suddenly it is extremely unbalanced.

Anyways, What´s up with this fascination about SF (and Snipers too for that matter)? How awesome is it to sneak around, never see any real battle? If anything PR should be more about mechanaised battle and less about a hundred different specialized kits. By this I don´t want the SF kit of the game, I enjoy the British and Yank SF because of the dotted sight on the weapon, but I´d rather see that on more weapons.
If there should be a PR SF it probably would´nt be that fun to play since the nature of specail forces are more about HumInt and Hearts and Minds and less about knocking Iranian embassys and clear out caves in Tora Bora.

3===SPECTER===3, do you want to try and guess how many times it has been suggested to make spec ops limited and give them a suppressed weapon?

What ever happened to that silenced sniper rifle? I recall it back before I quit .3, but never really questioned it.

I remeber using it as well, I think I like the M14 better though :D

To me the SF kit = CQC kit for me. The only time I bother with it is if things are real up close and personal or we need to take out a rally point (slams). Past that I would gladly take a rifelman kit over it any day.

I don't think it would enhance teamplay by having the kit limited and surpressed. How could you ensure you get every person in your squad got a limited SF kit? Plus the fact that in AAS you only have one or two flags to hit kind of eliminates the whole need for sneaky SF with supressors lurking around

He is sooooo right.
I remember when i 1st played the mod, i was a'1337' lonewolf pwnzorxer with those 40/3 K/Ds. Then i realised how much of an idiot i was lol and then started playing AT and engineer(which everyone LOVES you for, especialy on maps like CP abadan). Joined some good squads under the likes of Fuzzhead and Bob.dob and got hooked on it.
If you want to do some realistic sniping, set up about 2 miles from the fight and relay intell to your CMD, requesting shots are the odd crewman that heppens to pop out the hatch every 5 rounds.

I'd love to see the Mk.12 mod. 0 come back, even if it was just an ultra rare pickup kit like the M95.

I was never a great user of it myself, but I can see how it would be quite useful in some situations.

And using point blank range and a Type-56 or AK-101 to prove that full auto and loud was better than semi and quiet was always fun. :p
The key to modernising any weapon is covering them in glue and tossing them in a barrel of M1913 rails until they look "Modern" enough.

Patilla Airfield, Panama, December of 1989. Four full platoons of 16 men each. It did not work out well for them.

Spetsnaz in operating Afghanistan during the soviet invasion operated in and with normal Russian units, often using equipment and uniforms form the units they where attached too.

it comes down to training and tactics, honestly id rather see the spec ops removed, or only be on a few limited maps.

then maybe down the line properly replaced by units like army rangers, royal marine commandos or paratroopers but thats alot of work just for brits/yanks with new skins. and of course it would only be fair if the MEC and china get their own special forces also.
