And for reference:

Yes, that type of setup for selectable and differentiating weapons what we would like to go for. Although the HTI/AM rifles may be in pick-up kits only since they are rare.Beckwith wrote:i would like to see the DM(designated marksmen) used on some maps (more urban oriented, or if the maps are centered on specific units)
one other possibility is if mods can use the button for unlocks that allows each class to basically have 2 primary weapons assigned to it if thats the case id like to see a sniper rifle (m40, m107, m95 etc) placed in the unlock position, and the DM rifle in as the default main weapon (m21, M14 etc etc)
now keep in mind im very much against unlocks but id say make it like that all kits have two choices for there main rifle but give each choice a plus or minus
IE
m107 more power accuracy at longer range, but more recoil slower reload cant cant shoot unless prone or crouched
m14 more accurate at short range faster reload can shoot when standing or moving
and for other classes like assault it could be as simple as slight changes in the model or a hole new weapon all together

Well, the sniper team observer carries a rifle; in US service, this means either an M16 (with or without an M203) or one of the many flavors of designated marksman rifle (SDMR, USMC SAM-R, Mk-12, M14 EBR, USMC M14 DMR, SR-25, Mk-11, etc). So, another sniper with a DMR of some type can act as the observer/local security element for a sniper team. The actual role of an observer would be difficult to implement in-game.{GD}Snake13 wrote:I think that the specops should be made "recon", and that a recon guy should be able to be a spotter
As I said in another thread, USAF CCTs are not the only troops trained to call in close-air support and supporting arms. USMC Scout/Snipers, Division and Force Recon, Army infantry battalion scouts (11B infantrymen or 19D cavalry scouts) and the sniper teams drawn from them, LRS units, SF, SEALs, etc.; pretty much any soldier in a unit with a reconnaissance task and infantry unit leaders are trained for this task.Beckwith wrote:i say combine the role of the observer with that of the CCT and make that the "spec ops" class call it recon CCT or watever
Well you could give spec ops the choice of a carbine (i.e. M4 with aimpoint and supressor) or a full length rifle (m16, maybe m16 with 4x acog?) and that would allow them to fufill a range of recon duties.'[R-DEV wrote:Eddie Baker']Well, the sniper team observer carries a rifle; in US service, this means either an M16 (with or without an M203) or one of the many flavors of designated marksman rifle (SDMR, USMC SAM-R, Mk-12, M14 EBR, USMC M14 DMR, SR-25, Mk-11, etc). How about giving the observer binoculars and increasing the zoom for the rifle a little more?'[R-DEV wrote:The actual role of an observer would be difficult to implement in-game.
