Just a little something I've been playing around with. Needs a lot of work still. Among the things not done are the sights, carrying handle and sling attachments. And I have to tweak some stuff to make it look better. But anyway, here it is :

I'd say alot of UK soldiers would love to see a modernised L1A1 return ... the history of the L85 as well as its 7.62 calibre certainly make it tempting on paper
Looking great, espcialy considering the weapon, the FN FAL is such a brilliant one *shifty looks at M4*
I am also impressed at the speed at whcih these fine creations come bungled into this PR goign world. Quality and speed, damit i think i can smell a DEV badge in the air.....

Very nice but which faction would use these? Insurgents?

Funny how this would have been THE symbol of American military power rather than the inadequete M16. All because the Pentagon screwed the British over with the EM2 in favour of the 7.62mm and then decided that they would make their own intermediate round after all.
Turn it into the L1A1 (as mentioned) as the DM rifle for the Brits. More realistic than that L86LSW, methinks. Doesn't seem right, using a light support weapon as a designated marskman's rifle.
Is it realistic to have an outdated weapon that's not used (AFAIK) by the British military as their DMR? IRL, the Brits don't have a rifle for the DM role, and thus they use the closest thing in use IRL, namely the LSW.
