Would be rather pointless in calling it a mod and not do custom maps...
The question is; when do we get to see any? :p

asking a map makeer/mod maker/anything maker "when can we get it?" is like asking your mum when dinners ready, you just know what the answer will be before you ask it :D

everyone in the forum needs to look at and take to heart what acid just said. asking anyone for a timetable here is like asking george bush for a timetable on iraq, were just going to give you the same answer over and over... although eventually you'll get what your asking for, we wont just ignore you and hope you'll go away.

Map makers are pretty rare. We've found more texture artists and programmers and even a god damn professional musical engineer! But no map makers! Maybe the mediocre tools are to fault. I've seen very few maps released in general too.

realy no map makers, thought that would be most common i make maps that are poor and by the time im done they dont work any more but i do it. i would think that would be the most common with the program and being easyer to do or from what i did. any info about a map we could have like location??

like to see a map where the boats are used more like a vietnam. be cool to have team on a boat open up on the shore line at guys they cant see behind big brush.

I've almost completed my first map, but it's just for learning the toolset...don't know if i'll inflict it upon anyone :P I am however learning the mod tools in hopes to make some SP maps, including one that is just a target range. If you guys don't mind me picking your brains some, I might bug ya about getting models into bf2... I have some things planned for the target range.

That target range map you have coming.... Sounds like a great idea.
In the good old Infiltration days someone, I forgot who, made one for, yeah obviously, Infiltration.
It was great. It has popup targets and everything. A great place to learn the capabilities of your weapons.

So if you ever get it done I'm gonna be on it like a bear on honey! :lol:

What are your ideas for the design of this map?
The one for Inf had several sections to it like one for shooting with different ranges. Short, medium and long range. You can actually move the targets back and forth by stepping on a trigger.

Then there is a heavy weapons section with mounted MGs where you can practice firing the MG:s and also the grenade launchers.
In this section the targets are inside concrete buildings showing up in windows, doorways and 'broken' walls.

Finally there is the MOUT section where you can practice CQB against popup targets. It's a small cityblock, just a street actually with about 8 buildings at the end of this there is an obstaclecourse.

You could send a mail to Alpha_Lima and ask about this map as he used to be a mapper for Infiltration. (Or if we're lucky he might even reply to this thread.... ;) )

I'm looking forward for your map whatever it will look like! :thumbsup:
