i think the player who is commander should get additional respawn time added (going into the minutes) when he is killed

this would make him a high value target, as his team would be left without satellite, arty, supply/vehicle drops, new bunkers/firebases/AA emplacements for several minutes. not sure if its possible to disable the ability to give out orders when dead.
this would also encourage commanders to be further away from the front and encourage his protection by his team when he is near the front

perhaps the commander could also be made easier to ID by requiring him to request and use a unique-looking kit before he can use assets
maybe the officer kit with an iron-sight rifle or carbine-something more like a personal defence weapon because he is not a grunt geared for gritty combat with an assault rifle

just an idea,
of course this isnt necessary

I like this idea. I think it should be looked into.

could they make the kit look different?
as in give him a nice hat, maybe a different uniform?

He must already use the officer kit to use assets but that doesn't make him look any different.
A longer spawn time as commander is a good idea but the point structure rewards more if commander is near the action i believe.

i would love to see commanders insert sniper teams via helicopter behind enemy lines
the sniper team would be tasked with moving unseen to the area where their commander thinks the enemy commander is, finding concealment, observing the area , IDing him, and then proceeding to take him out by
either calling an arty or airstrike (on maps where available) or-last resort because it risks the sniper team-send a 7.62 into his chest---i think commanders should not have body armor because i believe generals do not wear body armor IRL as it would just be plain uncomfortable to wear inside the command tent/vehicle and they would be an area presumed safe like the Green Zone.

this would all make the fight between opposing commanders much more personal and add more depth to gameplay and importance to the commander role and his protection

Hopefully we'll sort out the kit rendering distances in a future release and the CMDR / SL / Officer will be uniquely identifiable.

when that time comes i might just have to let go of my SAW so i can cap some officers with the M40A3and laugh as the rest of their team runs around like beheaded chickens with the rest of my team finishing them off...

another thing: is it possible to give commanders a unique map icon-similar to how the VIP SUV gets a star on Xtract mode
