The arms fold back when not in use so I can scoot up close to the desk.

Ha, yes I remember that... it was MechWarrior I think, and you had to press eject or it erased your save...

A Nicely built chair.

I wish I had the time and money to do this: http://members.aol.com/wietlpachm/howto/newpics.htm

Hehehe N1..., but the time and money you put into it, you could prolly afford real flying lessons, altho not in a jet or gunship hehehe

I dont know ... some of the older military aircraft are quite reasonable second hand, and probably are a lot more exciting.

Example 1 - MIG 21

Example 2 (for the wealthier) - Aero something or other

or for the more refined second hand purchaser, example 3 - a Boeing

Alternative to all those, for the price of 2 second hand ferrari's, you can also choose option 4 ... an MI-24 Hind

The money people spend on these crazy things could probably buy you flying lessons :P

Still very cool, but so geeky.

Or better yet they could join the airforce and fly a real one :P

Yeah I wasn't going to spend a bunch of money to make this chair. I think the final tally for it was less then $150 USD (not including the joystick/throttle combo or the trackball).

Cougar + Pot upgrade, yeah then maybe, but for my money I'd rather get that new X.52 Pro from Saitek. http://www.saitek.com/uk/prod/x52pro.htm

I have an X.45 right now.

I'm bidding $55 on a an X52 right now on ebay. Assuming I don't get sniped, I'll win it in 2 hours.

What's unfortunate is I just played with it at Best Buy and the reviews were right, the joystick tension is WAYYYYY too loose. Now I'm sort of regretting my bid.
