Frontlines: Fuel of War moddability? Possible PR2 platform?
http://www.gamespot.com/pc/action/front ... n;dropdown
Developed by Kaos studios - made up of the modders that gave us Desert Combat - this might just be the next big thing - and a possible platform for PR2?
By the looks of the trailer, it is unfortunately another arcade game in Battlefield tradition. However, it might be more moddable than BF2 (how could it not be!) I am curious to hear what the PR team thinks of this game and if they have intel on whether it is going to be highly moddable. Do you expect this to be the platform for the PR2 you hopefully plan to make or are there other games you are looking more forward to?

Well said. There really is little point talking about PR2 and new engines...'[R-DEV wrote:Rhino']I wish ppl would stop going on and on and on about PR's next engine... We are no where near finnishing our BF2 version, let alone if we are going to make a 2nd version on another engine and if we do, its going to have to be a very persific engine that meats more needs than BF2 dose.
We are recruiting high skill players for PR - http://www.imgoingin.co.uk/forums

When PR 1.0 roles out then I think the Devs should look at what is available. Only then would you have the most information available to make a logical decision and more up to date engines to test drive. Right now the game isn't even out, PR is far from done and the Devs may decide they have had their fun and want to try things in new genres etc. So many variables that will be addressed in time.

Word. Yeah its easy to get sucked into that games graphics...stuff is like straight porn. Insanely impressive from a graphical\technical standpoint. And who cares what we talk about here? Its the general discussion area so fine, whoopity -do...were talking abuot the game and if it would ever be on a different engine...no big deal...we all know its probably not going to happen. Just bs'n around.Nimble wrote:I doubt even dual 8800's could handle a map on the scale of Kashan with Crytek 2 :/

Exactly. I remember the wait for .5, and the even worse one for .6. No doubt my abilities to wait for mods to release have been amped up from those horrid experiences.Long Bow wrote:Anyone who is a Forgotten Hope fan knows that being faithfull to a mod requires P A T I E N C E (a painfull amount at that)

I'm sorry but CryEngine 2 completely oblitorates any other engines on the market. In terms of graphics, modability and ease of use (a freakin monkey could make a mod on it, it's that straight forward.). Its by far the most superior and advance engine ever created. It will spawn mods on par with the ones the source engine has made.
Anyway yeah, keep up the good work on the bf2 engine you're doing great considering the limitations.
P.s Good luck to the ex-desert combat team, i loved that mod so so much. Hope they do well.

Actually just to say duel 8800's could run a map on the scale of Kashan. Infact one 8800 can run crisis on high yet not ultra, not even duel 8800 cards can run it on ultra as it has features that enable it to continue expaning after market and that no existing graphics card can handle.
Sorry i'm a technology buff on anything graphics, artifical intelligence or mod-ability aspect.
