Played the Rc (release candidate) on TG's site last nite and i gotta say well done, I love the way it looks and especially sounds.

I have a few observations though, the main one being that tanks with their super zoom are a tad too overpowering in comparison to other battlefield assets, especially choppers.

I saw 5- attack helos getting hit by tank fire...... not sure if this was because the heli users were poor cause i didn't get a chance to piot or gun in one.

In any event how about increasing the "drop" of a round could be a quick fix???

HAT should realy have those 2 zooms lvl like it had as now it seems that 2 HATS needed to pop up tank!? (or im just a bloody bad shot). THis is big thing on kashara*(typos?) desert & oilfields where tanks just sit back and blow up living **** out of everything.

I also thought the Chinese riflemans rifle was very inaccurate...i usually go 2:1 or 3:1 in most rounds and that was g'teed with china in .5 with the scope. Seems to be very hard to hit targets now on single shot.

Games much deeper now than .05 and i'm really happy about that. But my main thing again was tanks being too powerful. Could choppers maybe get the same HUD "display" as the A10 thus allowing it to spot its targets from further out even?

The chopper gunners have 2 levels of zoom on their imaging systems, and they have live footage from the guided missile, allowing them to take a close look at a tank's paintjob, if only for a second. All a chopper crew has to do is spot a tank, align for launch, launch, and get the hell out of there while guiding the missile. The tank is then pretty much defenseless, and the only thing he can hope to do is dodge the very fast missile by moving.

And tanks SHOULD be overpowering. They are friggin tanks after all. The H-ATs in game are short range, so it makes sense that they don't have a two-level zoom. Both SRAW and ERYX have a max range of 600m, if I recall correctly, and you can see farther than that on Kashan.

If you see attack helos getting swatted out of the sky by tanks, then these helos are seriously doing something very wrong. A chopper can totally dominate tanks, provided it uses its superior mobility and altitude advantage. A good chopper crew is essential, of course, and soloing the chopper will get you nowhere.

Like i said i didn't get a chance to gun in the chopper.......

My other point was that its much easier spot a chopper at range than a tank.... (choppers against the sky).

Does the zoom put tanks in a square box like friendlies....cause if it doesn't this is a huge adv to the tank as the chopper then has to stay still to search for targets....

My point is the helo should be able to move and spot and this is why tanks should be easier for it to spot...

Also HAT cannot hit at those ranges with current zoom levels.......

The zoom is a double edged sword in that regard because it is very hard to track a fast moving target on high zoom and on lower or standard view the main gun does not elevate that much so hitting a helo up close is difficult.
Helo pilots get cocky and fly slow or hover because nobody is toning them or firing light AT at them.
When the helo flies fast and at medium altitude it's very hard to kill, although there have been concerns about it's armor that may be addressed in this build if not the next.

As the other have said good people in the helo make it a very good asset especially against tanks, I cant see your view on the HAT's but that's how it works.

I agree with the H-AT. The weapon has optics, you're not using "iron sights", so the optics should give some sort of zoom, if just a bit. How does the options work on these weapons IRL??
I've been using the H-AT at long range (500-600m), and maybe it's just me being a n00b, but I'm not hitting the target..!

About the helo! It's a battlefield, if you're in a helo, you better keep moving around, and don't take the straight line towards a tank when he has the gun pointed at you!!

Wait for 0,7 and it's Javelin. Then we'll have the tankers moaning. The current HAT has that optic/box because you can control the missile in the air.

I have hit tanks on Kashan which were on the View distance border. It just takes skill.

Then again, tanks in a hull a hull down position are the most dificult to shoot at.

Choppers? They have to rethink how they fly because vanilla isn't good enough in this mod. Use the environment to your advantage.

hermm ,......no?

you know that cobras , apaches and havocs can fire lazer guided AT misils right?

those TV guided missils are very obsolete and unrealistic .

hell, even the AT missils in the havoc can track choopers and slow-low flyng planes .
