Cheater HAVEN?
In lieu of hyjacking another thread (sorry gents) and insuring that the subject recieves the attention it deserves I have re-posted on the subject.
As of recent, the influx of people cheating latey is VERY disheartening. I dont know if its the "sexyness" of the Open BEtA or if its the fact that the consequences of being caught is less, but its pretty frustrating.

I ask everone to keep a keen eye on the Cheater thread found below for these folks and publically call them for what they are when you see them on PR servers. I love PR TOO friggen much to have turds like these ruin it.
Cheers,
PMEDIC

It's a damn shame.
I like to think the Marines are above cheating in a video game.
Well it takes all kinds of people to make the world go 'round so I guess Marines who cheat at games are part of that too.

Finally I understand the feelings of the few.

Maybe they don't want to die in-game, just as IRL?
Then again, IRL; they cant see, where every single enemy is and shoot him, before he does that...
Then again again, I thought, army raises mature and intelligent people, since you cant really expect 5 cowards, 2 dumbasses and one selfish boaster to win the battle...

I will once again defend Reaver178.
I have known him 3 years now, He has not once used cheats intentionally. The Military provide communal PC's for recreational use in the field. Tom unintentionally used hacks. As I've said I don't expect you to unban him, and I understand that. As for the other guy, I didn't background check him (I never do
). Now you can ban him from your server if you will, but please don't spread ****. If he was a repeat offender he would be on Even balances master ban list.
Thank you,
Good day.

And no he is not on even balances master list. Please link to it?

Ecko, the screen shots that are posted on our fourms were taken on our server, showing your buddy cheating.... i am not sure how much more proof you need. there was no way a player can not notice that when he is playing there is yellow markers showing where his enemies are, and his minimap showing where all the enemy squads are located. I think your Buddy is smarter than this, if not.... it might not be a good idea to jump form aircraft for a living.

Can we please not make personal attacks based on what happened in game.'[DVB wrote: Avalon.ca']Ecko, the screen shots that are posted on our fourms were taken on our server, showing your buddy cheating.... i am not sure how much more proof you need. there was no way a player can not notice that when he is playing there is yellow markers showing where his enemies are, and his minimap showing where all the enemy squads are located.
Anyhow, He was playing beta, for all he knew this could have been a bug. Do you have his Score? This would confirm if he was using them for personal gain (Perhaps confirm the use of an aim bot which would require activating it.)
This is the first complaint I have ever heard against tom in 3 years, this is why I'm skeptical, I know that he wouldn't intentionally use cheats. He will be back next week and I hope you will hear him out. Once you speak to him I'm sure you will understand why I'm going out on such a limb to prove this was an unintentional act.
On a personal note, I would trust my life to him, and that's saying alot due to how much friendly fire Americans get into.

Don't get me wrong Ecko, this is not a personal attack on you, and i commend you on your loyalty. But the facts are facts. we have given you the proof, it is up too you to make your judgement on him. we can present only the facts. it is no bug, there is a prior history, thats the bottom line. I would hate to see your crediablity tarnished for being a good Friend, and perhaps in the real world he him self is a good guy. But in our community he his insulted us all that believe in fair play, by using game cheats.

As compared to friendly fire from what other nation ?
Aside from the brave boys from across the pond can you point to anybody who is involved in a large scale armed conflict ?
But hey, why pass up a chance to bash America....it's easy to throw stones when you don't live in a glass house.......... oh yeah ....you do live in a glass house ,don't you ?
You friend may not mean to cheat, or more likely he has never been caught before but from the screenshots in this case and the videos I have seen of cheaters it is brutally obvious that the game has been modified.
He was not making a personal attack based on what happened in the game.
He was pointing out the obvious conclusion that any intelligent person can see the difference between a regular game and a hacked game and noting that if your buddy can't tell the difference he is stupid.
And it follows that if he is that dumb perhaps airborne operations are too complex for him.
What he meant was, since he is a paratrooper,( or so you claim ) he simply can not be that dumb.
But it wasn't "in the game" that he turned on or used cheats, it was in real life sitting in front of a computer that a real life person played a mod, a BETA of a mod.
Perhaps there is a good reason but it would seem very, very unlikely.
How long did Southtarnation or ColdNovemberRain play without being caught ?
But they were cheating weren't they ?
Absence of proof is not proof of absence.

Isn't it a little dangerous to publicly call someone a cheater based solely on what someone seems to perceive as a cheat without any actual concrete proof or evidence?
I know cheats abound for BF2(and many other games). My god , there are even web sites where you can buy them though I don't for the life of me understand why the hell anyone would.
But IMO , unless you are one of those few VERY experienced players who can pick abnormalities out simply by watching someone play , I think this type of a thread could be dangerous.
Just my .02

Yeah, there is no doubt Tom used cheats. I won't deny it. But what I'm saying is he didn't intentionally use them. I know this isn't a very good defense. This is the whole "BUT MY BROTHER USED CHEATS ON MY ACCOUNT" Defense. And as a Server admin I know how unbelievable that is. That's why I don't blame DVB for banning Tom. But I still trust in that he doesn't hack.DVB-PARAMEDIC.CA wrote:YOU'RE KIDDING ABOUT THE LACK OF EVIDENCE RIGHT???
